On Saturday evening we celebrated my wife's birthday with a meal at The Brewer's House, picked as I'd heard of good reviews. I had the bread starter which was a bit disappointing- loads of bread cut thick and still cold from the fridge. Perhaps a bit less and a little more refined would have been better, although as my wife... More

This was our wedding anniversary and the first time travelling to this restaurant after hearing great reviews. I should have known that things wouldn't be quite straightforward when I made the booking 10 days before our visit. The young lady who took my booking on the phone seemed to be in a lightheaded giddy mood as or else she had... More

I have been twice on the one weekend before and had the same thing...the steaks are great and with one of their hand crafted beers even better...Sunday lunch, just have the set lunch menu. It is great value and very good even had an extra Yorkshire thrown in to fill with more gravy...staff are friendly and service is good. If... More

I visited here with my husband on Friday 30th December. We opted for the early bird 3 course menu. From start to finish our meal was delicious. We both had fish main courses. My husband is from West Cork-an area renowned for its fish dishes. Even he had to admit that our mains would get top marks down there. Sampled... More

I booked here for a family Christmas meal. When we arrived we had to wait 10 mins. It seemed the manager came along and eventually sorted it but there was no apology or conversation. He rushed past us, as he shouted over at us. I didn't like this way of being dealt with because it was very impersonal & we... More

Visited recently for a family celebration. Party of 12 including children all delighted with the new menu. Service was first class and food delicious. Cocktails also freshly made and very yummy. Atmosphere was fun and friendly. Would recommend to anyone .

Visited here one Friday evening before going to a play in the Bardic. When we arrived we were pointed in the general direction of our table, and had to take a guess which was ours. Not a great first impression. Sat for about 10 minutes before someone came to take a drinks order. We ordered 2 cocktails which took approx... More
