My family and I have been here a few times, we've never had a bad meal here and the waiting staff are always friendly. I wouldn't have a problem with recommending this place to a friend.

Visited one evening on my way home from work and was on the doorstep when they opened. Very friendly and helpful welcome. Bar and restaurant are a series of small rooms and areas which was nice and private for a nice quiet meal. Menu had a great choice with some daily specials, I had the butchers platter and my partner... More

If you've read one of my reviews before you will realise that I mean the above. It was a 14oz Rib eye. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. The choice of potatoes were freshly cooked real chips/sautéed potatoes etc. Staff were efficient and friendly. Beer was perfect. I really can't fault it. Price wise it appears a tad on the expensive side... More

We have eaten several times at the White Hart in Llandarog and have always said "One day we must try the Butchers Arms across the road." Well, this time we did - and what a good decision. The food is a little more upmarket than the White Hart and the atmosphere much more peaceful. We shall certainly be back. My... More

We pre booked for lunch, on arrival we were made welcome and our table was ready. The pub appears to be very old with several nooks and crannys to sit in, which is very pleasant and we had a corner to ourselves. All three measl that we ordered were excellent, the food was well presented and ample portions, we particularly... More

looks nothing special but a real pub with a wide range of food at sensible prices . the food is freshly cooked and of generous portions .we only managed a main course as that was more than adequate. we saw the starters which looked excellent but would have been too much for most people .cannot comment on the desserts but... I have been to the Butchers numerous times and it never disappoints. The food is second to none. I have recently taken colleagues from work for their first visit. The food was cooked perfectly. We all had mixed grills which are fantastic value and the meat selection is absolute quality. The staff are very personal and on the ball. Please... More

The only negative thing about the Butchers is the dilemma you face over which delicious option to go for. After much consideration I went for the duck in orange and grand marnier sauce this time. It was 1st class, as were the seasonal veg and home-cooked chips. I could easily have gone for six other options - especially off the... More

Little pub back off the main road with dining spread across three rooms and a open fire. The friendliest staff and the daily specials were awesome, with options of 2 -3 course specials available. Great value for money and greeted by friendly faces from the time we walked in the door, definitely worth checking out.
