I often have a pint or two here when in Skipton and it's always a relaxing and friendly place, with a good selection of cask ales, which you can sample in advance. The Black Sheep Baa Baa IPA was our favourite. Recommended,

Met some friends for a bite to eat and a pint on their recommendation. We weren't disappointed. Ended up Sat their eating great food and good ales for 5 hours. People kept coming and going and the atmosphere was great and staff were welcoming and friendly. My last drink was a well made gin and tonic. Overall, what better way... More

We have visited the Narrow Boat on several evenings, with friends, and have had drinks (no food) in a very pleasant, comfortable, warm and welcoming atmosphere. On this occasion we arrived, having had a 3 mile walk in the rain with our dog, in need of rest and refreshment. We found the staff to be very welcoming, even in our... More

Sometimes simple polite attentive staff is all you need to feel comfortable and welcome. We have been before and it was extremely busy, but on a Tuesday late lunch time you could have been tempted to think as it was quiet move on! But don't the food is really good, decent portions without being out facing. I had my first... More

We ate a Sunday roast here and even though there was only the choice of 'beef', it was thoroughly delicious, arrived promptly and was good value at c £9.

Called here for a change. Lovely Sunday lunch, nice crisp vegetables and good portions of sliced beef, homemade roasties and Yorkshire puds. The other food being brought out was also of good portion size, the pies looked interesting and again homemade. Lovely selection of ales and lagers to accompany the food. Puddings were a good size and very reasonably priced.... More

We were in Skipton just for the weekend and came in for the beer... The Narrow Boat gets a good write up in the Good Beer Guide... and it didn't disappoint! Beers kept really well... wish we'd taken the time to eat too.

Great find; arrived in Skipton after travelling all day with the dog. Friendly staff, great beer selection and scrummy pie. Water and treats for the dog too. Recommended

Try to visit this place whenever I am in Skipton. It has always been a friendly and charming place to sit with old friends and chew the fat. Good selection of beers and reasonable food. It remains the way it was when it opened, with a few changes here and there. Unlike other pubs you can trust it to deliver... More

I've just been to Skipton for a change with my wife and our daughter for a browse around the shops and lunch. A few months ago I'd walked around the back of the shops to move our car and spotted this place and decided to try it next time we were around. We had our lunch here and we're very... More
