My wine group enjoyed a very successful BYO event, hosted at Matteo's. The venue (we had a private room), food and hospitality were all top notch.

$80 a head for a 2 course meal. For the main, some at our table ordered the steak, others the barramundi. Superbly cooked. The vegetarians ordered the only available dish, a baked half head of cauliflower with a swipe of sauce to pretty the plate....WTAF? How goes that even compare? The chef is either lazy or hates vegetarians. Either way, I don’t recommend you bring your vego friends and family here. Or at least the one’s that you like.More
My family of 8 enjoyed a wonderful dinner on Friday night with the usual efficient and friendly service , assisted by the excellent , well priced wine list . Everyone enjoyed their selected entrees and mains with the perfectly cooked Patagonian Toothfish being a standout.... The desserts were beautifully presented and delicious !More
Great food! But service was just average as the restaurant was overcrowded and the tables were not well spaced. Also the decor was nice, but not particularly upscale and in line with the food
For a moment I thought l was back dining in 1988! Overstuffed, stiff and formal and the food was average at best. Clearly popular with the (advanced) white collar set, Matteo's appears to be a restaurant to be seen in rather than enjoy the experience....Ravioli was chewy and the sauce, heavy. Main's fish was over cooked. The bombe for dessert was OK but visually was underwhelming (white bombe in a white bowl ). Not an enjoyable evening and overpriced but if your still humming "Simply irresistible" by Robert Palmer then maybe this is the restaurant for you.More
Dear Matteo and staff. We had a 70th birthday celebration at your restaurant on Thursday Jan 19th. We are not frequent customers but regular ones. Choosing Matteo's for celebrating our friends birthday was easy. Over the years, Matteo's has continued to provide an excellence of...dinning and hospitality experience which we enjoy. Thank you again for a wonderful combination of professionalism, hospitality and high quality food. I asked for guidance on a wine choice as I enjoy using the skills and knowledge of the sommelier in this way and it has always paid off at Matteo's. Our wine from the slopes of Mt Etna was perfect. Thank you to all involved. Steve and KathleenMore
Our French Wine and Food group is about the fussiest you can imagine. Matteo and his very capable staff always look after us better than well and food, wine, presentation and all the little details that make a meal experience great were well looked after...And the food was delicious and beautifully presented.More
I have been a few times now at Matteo’s. Each time I had perfection to the point. Quality of food and staff is simply beautiful.
Impressed with this private function, canapes were superb including eggplant cigars, prawn sandwich and arancini. For entree kingfish and main cauliflower were great. Mixed dessert was on point. Great service from Charles. Special to have your own wines.
We ate there recently, , the place was packed and buzzing and the food superb. I noticed that all of our party, having finished their food, used bread to sop up any extra flavours . It really is first rate and with a wine list...as good as one finds anywhere , up including a large number by the glassMore
Hot food was luke warm. Degustation menu something to look forward to in the past, now not so 2 star meal after several visits. Restaurant unfortunately now substandard.
We so looked forward to celebrating our anniversay dinner but walked out after the initial cold, unwelcome attitude. Won't be missing this place when they go out of business. They did nto ask for drinks order nor make an attempt to serve the table well....We ended up not eating there and glad to have walked out. Terrible experience.More
Always great to go back to Matteo's. Fabulous food, excellent wine list and always outstanding service.
High end food at affordable price. Chose the chef tasting menu being first time here. Love the service level even at full house capacity night. Very memorable food that I tried tonight: kingfish crudo with citrus cured scallops and added anchovies pangrattata. The snacks was...really tasty with lots of combination of raw and fried! Love the prawn sandwich and ocean trout cigar. I enjoyed the mains is the rabbit bolognese with handmade pasta ! Lots of cheese and made it rich, pairing with the Chianti made perfect. The highlight is the duck breast, the far best I have ever eaten ! The meat is so tender and flavorful! Pairing with Pinot noir goes so well. The dessert is uniquely made Yuzu Gelato.. lovely and will come back again! Do book earlier as the restaurant is really packed. The parking is easily find and available nearby.More
