Previously named Richmond Seafood Restaurant, RST has had a name change since it moved to North Fitzroy in 2011, however, its famous seafood specialities are even better than ever. Specialising in Melbourne's finest, fresh seafood, RST Seafood Restaurant is constantly evolving to bring exciting new flavours to Melbourne's seafood lovers. With an intimate restaurant, a premium function space and a chic bar and garden area that’s become known for its racing events and themed days this place is perfect for all occasions. Chef Danny Cecchi serves up what’s arguably the best seafood in Melbourne with freshly shucked oysters, a creamy clam chowder and plenty of non-fishy options (prawns, scallops, crabs, Moreton Bay bugs, mussels and crayfish). You’re sure to see him roaming around the restaurant – always smiling, he likes to personally greet his customers. SEAFOOD EXPERIENCE.

New experience at RST Fitzroy. Started with a Granite Hills reisling from Macedon. Very good drop ($65).Moved on to seafood chowder at $17. was excellent. Mains, we ordered the linguine ($38) with was not up to top standard a bit too much octopus, mussels a bit small. Service very good. Overall a nice lunch. A bit expensive.

Possibly Melbourne's best kept secret

A restaurant that serves Melbourne's best seafood and yet retains the warm convivial atmosphere of a a favourite local pub. Service is super-friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is complimented by a well-balanced and reasonably priced wine list.

A New Favourite!

Had been thinking about a visit to the Richmond Seafood Tavern for many years but never got around to it until today. It was worth the wait! Nicely set room, exceptionally attentive staff and a seafood menu to die for! Seafood chowder....yum! seafood linguine.....yum! Lemon prawns....yum! It's the only restaurant that I have been to where Mrs T has sat, eating her food and at the same time choosing what she will have on her next visit! If you enjoy seafood, you'll love the RST Seafood Restaurant!!

Low customer service

This restaurant try so hard to be a fine dinning, however, by their customer service, they never gonna be! Bad location as in a dark side street, no clear signboard to show the restaurant name. Entry walk through a old school country town pub, i thought i went into a wrong place. It likes a simple old hotel restaurant. I booked a month ago for 2, change to 3 the night before, however, our booking wasn't update, we force to squeeze in a small table. Another tables could fit in 6 people, they put 2 in those seat. Our booking was 6:30pm, not much people were there yet, they could easily make a arrangement. We waited the next bigger table finish, asked to change politely, got refused and the answer was the table we are sitting, they use it for 4 people... No one give us menu until i ask for it, the aunty even give me attitude; i ordered a bugtail with honey, Wellington was came. No one refill water at all; when we ask the staff to bring us the machine for pay the bill, that aunty gave us attitude again... King crab bruchetta $14ea, Lobster slyder $15ea, scallop saffron cream $8, scallop champagne cream $21, calamari fritti $18, fish croquette $12, Lobster gnocchi $40. Most of food were great, a little bit pricy as it's not a fancy restaurant, everything very straight forward. Nevertheless, we will never come back again and will not recommend to anyone as most staffs customer service and attitude is so bad.

What a underwhelming experience

Tonight l had dinner with my wife to celebrate birthday . The RST restaurant service was disjointed but as they clearly were in experienced we tolerated The biggest disappointment was the food . Oysters kilpatrick not hot enough the taste was lacking pretty average , chilli prawns again average the major disappointment was the flat head fillets which literally were so small lucky to be 60 grams a serve total cost of $35 was underwhelming so disappointed . To be labelled arguably the best seafood restaurant in Melbourne is a major surprise that is why l booked the RST restaurant never again .

THE Seafood 'Go To' in Melbourne!!

RST never fails to deliver! Best seafood in Melbourne hands down, with an excellent variety of dishes. Friendly service, great food and an extensive wine list to match. Another memorable RST meal......except for the parking ticket!! The 'ghosts' work on a Saturday night, be warned!

TASTY SEAFOOD IN PUB SETTING

We had a very tasty dinner in RST Seafood Restaurant. It is a very unassuming place but the seafood was very well prepared, service was friendly and food was tasty.

Fun exploration of seafood in rebooted pub atmosphere

Lunch on a Budget

We went to RST after purchasing Scoopon tickets. This was my first attempt at Scoopon as i was always wary of the Service you would get. However the service staff at RST were excellent and service was not compromised at all. We ordered straight off the regular menu. I had an additional problem as I cannot eat Garlic or Onion due to my Fructose Intolerance. The ladies guided me to my choices (which were brilliant). Can i say that the Chilli Tiger prawns for my Starter, were fantastic - the Chilli provided a great kick without ruining the prawns, my wife had the Seafood Chowder which she rated in line with her chowder in Boston last year. We both had the perfectly cooked Snapper for Main and it was it was the most succulent bits of fish that i have ever tasted. Well done to all there, we will be back next time without the Scoopon and will delve more fully into a few Starters that we did not get to try. As i feel the way to go here is to enjoy several starters instead of a starter and a main (although it is hard to go past the fish of the day).

Amazzzzzzzzzzzziiiiiiiing!!!

Had my hubby's birthday dinner on Friday the 13th. We booked it online through Scoopon and surely didn't disappoint us. Hubby loved it & wanted to book again for our wedding anniversary in October. What can I say, customer service is flawless and the food is YUMMY. Will be back in October guys & keep up the fantastic work.

Fantastic Service

Magic little restaurant Had a great experience with a fantastic 3 course meal Scallops melted in the mouth and the chilli prawns were big and juicy Went with the Cod Special at waitress' suggestion - lovely then finished off with a great chocolate pudding with ice cream Waiting staff were very attentive and added to the experience. Looking forward to our next visit
