Looking for some virgin olive oil and came across Green Olive at Red Hill. Arrived around 1500 and was met by a lovely lady who helped us immediately with our olive oil questions. She advised they had just completed a press the same day, and...gave us a taste of the product. It ticked the box and we grabbed two bottles. Feeling a little peckish we sat down inside and ordered some of the small share dishes. Most are priced around $14.50 a plate. There are a number of choices but they are primarily designed as share meals. We ordered herbed lamb meatballs, roast beetroot salad and roasted farm potatoes along with a Shiraz and a hot chocolate. Meals came out promptly and were delicious. So good we ordered another round of meatballs. The waiting staff were friendly and prompt to clean up the tables. We also picked up a number of other items from the store also. The place was very busy and I noted they also welcome dogs.More

Green Olive at Red Hill offers fresh and homemade produce , in a casual atmosphere. On a cold winter day, I really enjoyed hearty food with beautiful flavours. What I really liked: -Meal quickly arrived on the table -The waitresses were nice and very efficient...-The dogs make you feel at home and give you this welcoming farm atmosphere -Family friendly, dog friendly -A nice blanket(if you were seating outdoor) was offered during the meal to warm you up -I could see Greg and Sue at work with the team as this place is usually very busy. Definitely worthwile to go back in Summer.More

Terrible!! Mother’s Day lunch, 12 people. No menus or wine list, no prices anywhere funny about that. Cost us $1000 for a couple of meat balls & a few tiny sausages. Only 2 toilets for well over 100 people, line stretched through the place, disgusting.!!...At 2pm just about to order coffee & desserts politely told to “piss off” as the table now booked for second seating, WTF! No dessert, pretend coffee in pretend cups sitting on the grass, our 3 grandparents were mortified. Try asking about gift vouchers, what’s the extra $20 for?? We were told “ the experience “! WTF ! Worst experience we’ve all ever had. And you have to walk a mile up a steep hill to get back to the car, our grandparents nearly died. Horrendously overpriced, extremely unprofessional & the worst experience we’ve ever had.More

Beautiful setting, great table near the lake with beautiful views of the vines, perfect on a nice, sunny day. Received the farmers lunch package as a gift which had a good variety of food and drink, although disappointed not to receive any olives (replaced with...dukkah). The dips and potatoes were delicious, but do not order the iced strawberry, it is just an overdose of strawberry topping and icecream, not appetising at all. Overall a nice place to pop in, make sure to book as very busy.More

We had booked last year for a friends birthday. Due to covid we couldn’t go so we picked it up again this year I was a little tentative because the reviews weren’t that good But we went ahead and looked forward to our day. Im...not sure what all the negativity is about because we had a lovely time. We joined a group with the owner doing a tour and looked over the farm the vegetable garden the olive grove the vineyard and learnt how they worked hard to build the business. It was great. That was followed by a taste of the olives and oil. Then we had a tapas lunch which included pate parfait. Tomato salad. Sausages. bruschetta. Frittata amongst it. Then dessert and a glass of wine and coffee. Perfect amount. We found the staff friendly and efficient the owners friendly and proud of their business. The food was fresh and seasonal straight from the garden. Enjoyed it all.More

We attended for lunch and a drink as recommended by many people reporting the food was the best out of the other local wineries. They were accepting walk ins however only had outside tables and they explained that if it were to rain they wouldn’t...be able to move us inside which we accepted. However, it did begin to rain very heavily and they didn’t allow us to stand inside or sit at a vacant table. We were only there to eat and run as had many things on but there was a long wait on the food. Upon leaving we saw other customers with blankets provided by staff and this was not offered to us whilst we sat in the rain waiting for our food. The food was below average and we were all very disappointed. The lamb meatballs were tasty however they were clearly reheated. They came to the table cold and didn’t have colour to them. The potatoes also appeared reheated and were chewy to eat. The tomato salad had over ripened watery tomatoes and it was inedible. All meals came out separately despite being ordered together. I would attend here again for the views and a drink but definitely not to eat. Also, it was disappointing that with the wine tasting board only one of the wines was their grapes being the Pinot Noir which made the experience less enjoyable.More

We went to Green Olive for a picnic experience today, after purchasing through Red Balloon. From the time we arrived, the whole experience was magical. As it was raining, the staff offered us a table under cover, which was very much appreciated. We were able...to choose a lovely wine to go with our lunch. On opening the picnic basket, we found the most amazing things. A lovely blanket, and food to die for. Prosciutto, salami, cheeses, crackers, several dips/sauces, including the best hummus I think I've ever tasted. After lunch we went for a walk in the grounds, very beautiful. We really enjoyed our day at Green Olive, and it made our wedding anniversary today very memorable. Thanks to all involved.More

We are constantly disappointed as locals when take friends here. Today was more of the same so it will be a long time before we try again. Basically the prices are totally overflated and the servings tiny. Which is such a shame as the setting...is amazing. Whatever you do don't go there hungry. Today's farmhouse platter consist Rd of two carefully placed pieces of salami with two tiny pieces of chorizo along with dip bread and olives. Seriously. A tease. The tapas plates are tiny. We understand that living in red Hill means paying tourist prices but most other local places also provide a decent size serving. Sorry Green Olive. We hadn't been back for some time and we love supporting local business but you need to seriously look at your value. NOTE I typically provide only positive reviewsMore

Food is good, but beware if you buy a gift voucher. I bought one as wedding present for friends. They were going to be in the are as part of their honeymoon and despite booking lunch online 6 weeks before, they got a call 2 days...before to say that they would be closed as it was a public holiday! Nonetheless when my friend called anonymously to check if this was true they were planning on being open and would have taken her booking. Further, when they drove past on the day, Monday March 8, the restaurant was very busy. Bad form, unethical, and unfair. Shafted my friends and made it difficult for them to use the gift as they were on the Peninsula for the weekend. I will never support them again , no buy gift vouchers for them.More
