I spoke with a really friendly Barmaid and Landlady and also Neville the most interesting Landlord, I've ever met !
They were able to reassure me that my Friend was still local and still working ! Very hard !
His best friends still drink there...and he would like to drink there with them, however , due to difficult, personal circumstances , my funny and gentle man friend , no longer feels, welcome at the Farquharson ! And has to use the more expensive and somewhat stuffier, Public House, The Anvil , when he requires a drink at the weekends !
I like the atmosphere, at the, Farquie, as it's affectionately, known, by, all of the locals !
The food I sampled was hot and tasty ! And reasonably priced compared to the neighbouring Public House, The Anvil .
I hope the Landlord Neville and his lovely landlady wife, can learn to forgive my friend's indiscretions , especially at this time of year ! ? and please, allow my long time, friend of some 13 years, to frequent, Neville's home and business , again , soon !
Please insist though, that my friend enter alone, this time, when coming in for his weekend drink and meal sometimes , it helps ! t As that's what caused the problem before ! My friend is very easily influenced by anyone he chooses to trust ! And never eats before he drinks and so gets drunk too quick !
Thankyou for listening to this review and I feel able to comment like this as I looked at both, of the Pimperne, Public Houses, and I know where my friend would prefer to drink in 2020 !More
Four of us dined here this evening and were so pleased we did. It was our first visit and we received a lovely warm welcome.
The food was wholesome, tasty and fresh, needless to say there were four empty plates.
We would definitely recommend this...place, a little gem.More
Recently pulled in on the way home as saw the sign for a carvery, the pub had a horrible smell and was very dated.
The carvery was rubbish for what you pay, £8.95 for a small selection and not well presented. There was also no...yorkshire puddings!!!
Friendly staff though on the plus side.More
Visited recently with some friends for lunch. We ordered a variety of selections from the menu and everyone enjoyed their food. Our main problem was the length of time we had to wait for our food to arrive. To be fair, we believe that they...were short staffed at the time and looking for a new chef. Despite that the quality of the food was fine and the staff, there appeared to be only two, were friendly and helpful.I also felt that the decore could have done with a bit of updating though I recognise that many pubs are struggling in the preent financial climate.More
We called here on our way home. This pub appears popular with the locals and the bar lady was very friendly. There is a nice display of flowers outside. My husband had the chicken strips with pepper and egg noodles and I had a spinach...and mushroom pancake. The pub has a nice light interior and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The food arrived very quickly and was well cooked. We finished off sharing a Knickerbocker glory which was lovely/ . There is plenty of car parking and the toilets were clean and well looked after.More
