Iceland is known for its Icelandic lobsters which are langoustines and this is the best place in Iceland to have them. For two weeks I've gone around the island to sample langoustines and this is the best. Go for the lobster bisque which was mustard seeds for heat and chunks of langoustines. Then order the langoustines which have been simply... More

Excellent lobster dinner in a very informal restaurant. Staff was attentive to all needs. Would return again and again

My parter and I eat here every time we come to Iceland. We always have the 3 course meal which taste exceptional. The soup is to die for, I would love the recipe! The lobster has the sweetest taste, the best I have ever had! The staff are lovey and polite and make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend.

After a rainy, cold, windy day out on the road the Fjorubordid was our last stop to have a meal before we return to Reykjavik. I ordered the lobster soup and had lobster afterwards. Both were delicious and the sea view added the wow factor to my meal. My friend is a vegetarian and that's the reason why I had... More

Visited for dinner while staying in nearby Selfoss. We had the 3-course lobster menu (soup, 'lobster and trimmings', dessert). It was all simply presented and very tasty, worth the drive to get there. Icelandic 'lobster' are really langoustines, so quite fiddly and messy to eat- we were given a hot towel at the end, but I would have appreciated a... More

Really simple menu, you come here for the lobster soup or the lobster itself. Was really delicious and quick too! If you are here make sure you visit the small hut nearby with grass on top.

We stopped by this place for lunch according to one of the travel guide pamphlets. We had the "famous magical lobster soup". Unfortunately We have to say the food is overpriced and the quality is mediocre. The restaurant is also a stopping place for tourist buses, so it is really loud. Be aware!

Visited this place for the first time 20 years ago, must say this is still the place were they serve the best food on the island. The service might not be tiptop nore the place but I go here for the food, absolutely excellent

A couple steps inside and we were totally taken by the aromas, smiles, sea view, and cakes on the bar. We were lucky to be here in October (13th) and had plenty of attention and elbow room. Small Icelandic lobster is the specialty here and it's the best we've ever had. Our server was the perfect blend of friendly/professional and... More

At the seashore the giant lobster makes appointments with mermaids and Landlubbers. He waves his large claws, attracting the desire to be in the company of starfish and lumbfish. The village's corrugated iron houses, located just above its harbour, smack of ocean fragrance and seahorses. The village is named Stokkseyri and it sits just sixty thousand metres from Icelands capital, with a view of volcanoes, the ocean and endless hayfields. Under the stars, an even more important journey takes place - across salivating tongues, beautiful stomachs and joyful minds...
