This public house when you walk in is quite a blast from the past, it is full of charm and character's. We had the most welcoming visit in all of the peaks, and the food was not your average standard menu. Thank you for a wonderful experience, whilst watching the cricket. Xx

Hello and thank you for taking your time to review our establishment. We are very proud of the traditional old world feel of our pub and continue to add to the horse brass, whiskey jug and tankard collection to keep up the charm and character we feel it has. The portions are plentiful and made on site by our dedicated... More

This is a really nice pub, there was a decent menu and it offered good food. This pub has since changed hands, and I have not made it back since then

Hello and thank you for your recent review. We took over oat the beginning of June 2014 - which I am very pleased to say is when you stated you visited and there has been no change of ownership since then. I am very glad that you enjoyed your visit. We have since adapted our menus slightly... we still offer... More

We have been frequent lunchers at the Derwent Arms and have always liked its atmosphere and food. Today, however, at the end of our meal, we were refused coffee on the grounds that the the pub had now closed, even though we continued to sit for a sufficient time to have had the coffee, while we finished our wine, and... Been here before food was good as it was before, however the decor and staff seemed to have changed and NOT for the better. Service was not acceptable but the dark haired man that served us was short tempered and sweating loads, complete with pit stains, which was almost enough to put us off our food, however we decided to... Hello, and thank you for your recent review. Everyone's point of view counts. We took over the Derwentwater in June 2014 and it has gone from strength to strength. The decor hasn't changed a lot in this period, for several reasons we enjoy the traditional pub feel which has been enhanced by us taking down the falling down wall paper... More

Nipped in for a quick visit with the family on Thursday evening. Had two stone baked pizza, truffle fries and toast for our baby! The food was quick, fresh and of excellent taste and quality. The service staff were warm and welcoming. A very enjoyable experience and will definitely return!!!

Stayed in the village over Easter and visited twice. Cannot fault the staff and service - so friendly and welcoming. the food was outstanding and I can highly recommended the local steaks and the pizzas ! They went out of our way to accommodate our requests. There is a children's menu and daily specials. We would return to this village... More

After a last minute decision to eat out we tried the derwentwater having not been since the change in ownership last year. It was quiet in the restaurant when we arrived but not sure why as the food and service was excellent. I had the pie which was very tasty, my wife ordered from the specials board and my son... More

Large pub with enormous car park serving very good pub grub at very reasonable prices. We had the 2 for £10 and I could not fault the quality or quantity of the food. Good beer.

The promise of food on a long walk can spur everyone on even in the dire circumstance of rain... But, when the promised food place refuses you, well, suddenly everyone is disheartened. Luckily, a kind member of public suggested Derwentwater arms we trudged reluctantly up the road. Once there we were meeted with open arms. The barman suggested we move... More

Lovely food, friendly service, and they didn't mind our muddy boots! They also didn't mind us moving the tables around, as there were 9 of us. We were halfway around a walk and the staff were accommodating and friendly. We would definitely return.
