Dog friendly pub, tasty food and comfortable ambiance only marred by a crotchety old regular customer brandishing his walking stick at our dogs. Worth a visit, take your own stick.

Walking through the South Downs Way, this is an excellent place to spend the night. The service is extra friendly and helpful. Good menu for lunch and dinner. East Meon is small and quiet. Easy to relax here.
My husband and I and two friends had dinner at the George on Monday, once again the food and service were extremely good, it was a fairly quiet night being a Monday but the atmosphere was still good and most friendly, especially from the Barman/Manager.

Stayed over in this lovely village on a Friday night on the way to Winchester by foot. Basic but clean twin room was more than sufficient for our needs. Very nice pub grub for dinner, good beer and lovely staff. Brilliant Full English for breakfast....More

Had a family meal there last weekend. All the staff were friendly and efficient and very helpful. The food was excellent and the pub is lovely inside; has a great atmosphere. Will definitely visit again.
