Service started by been greeted at the door by Trevor he acknowledged our booking and escorted us to our table and took our drink orders , we found the restaurant to be modern clean with a great vibe that catered for our varied age group, great menu selection with variety that didn't disappoint when was served to us, After dinner Trevor got on the stage and sung a few songs very talented singer and was a highlight of the night. Service was impeccable would definitely recommend for a nice night out with family and friends . Thanks from the Kiwi family...

Very Enjoyable

We were a large group of 45 from Sydney that stayed in Ettalong for a few days and had booked the dinner well in advance. We had a selection of 3 main courses, Barramundai, Steak or Chicken. The Food and Service were both very good. The proprietor, Frank, turned out to be an accomplished singer and musician which helped cap off a great night for everybody.

Beef and Barramundi is an amazing fine dining restaurant, and great value for money. The wait staff, chefs and owners are always friendly and accommodating to our needs. The food is absolutely divine and the atmosphere is on point with live music whilst still offering a quiet and romantic atmosphere. Perfect for couples, families or parties. My favourite restaurant on the Central Coast without a doubt.

Worst dining experience of my life

The $39 steaks were either dry or uncooked, the prawns were cold and the oysters were tiny. The cocktail tasted like watery milk with no alcohol. The owner came to the table to ask how everything was. My friend politely told him that there were a few problems with the order. He said that he would write down our feedback, he took his pen and pad out, walked away and avoided our table till we ate all of our food. At the end when we once again tried to complain he told us that we should have said something earlier. When o said that we had be he avoided us he accused us of enjoying the meal because we ate it (forced it down as we had been hiking since the morning and were all extremely hungry) and refused to split the bill for us as a courtesy and compensation for the bad meal. I have actually never had a customer service experience worse than this. Do yourself a favor and book next door (toto bar I think it was), we went there and got some food and drinks that were unreal. Don't waste your money here

Pains me to give critical reviews of local restaurants but……..

Before I start I want to commend the chef. Everything was cooked and presented well and it was clear they know what they were doing. Prices are pretty high so expectations were up. Service, except for one thing ( which is a management, not a server issue) which I’ll expand on below This restaurant appears to be stuck in the 70s, and not in a good way. Needs a refresh in every way. I will never understand why, in an area with an abundance of fresh sea food, every restaurant must have barramundi flown in from Humpty Doo! I guess it’s their name, but this was the only fish. It was mushy and sloppy (frozen?) despite the best efforts of the chef. My companions were underwhelmed too and sent one dish back ( which was inedible) with the promise that something would be worked out. But when we got the bill, there it was, which meant my friend had to go and deal with the owners to have it taken off! They seem like nice folks and the entertainment , despite my fears, was quite good, but they need to focus on refreshing the tired menu and giving some value for money or their business will not thrive. Send in Gordon!

A clean restaurant with an odd school vibe. Service was quick (we were dining early so restaurant still slow). Pork ribs and beef cheeks were enjoyed by other family members but my sirloin steak for $41 was just not good and not worth it...

Bouillabaisse was not!

Pleasant ambience, nice big tables but the food was ho-hum. Bouillabaisse consisted of an assortment of seafood (I opted out of the mussels as they were green lip rather than black) in what was basically a canned tomato sauce. Was described as being served with crusty bread but arrived with two small slices of very thinly cut toast stuck in the dish. Service was friendly enough but unprofessional. Won't be returning.

Very poor food and management

Waitstaff were good and so were the cocktails. Food was poor- I ordered the barramundi, when it came it was over cooked and dry. Not only that it had bacon on it which was not what had been advertised on the menu. I am a pescatarian and would never have ordered something with meat on it. I immediately sent the order back and the waitress was very good and replaced it with some fries. When we asked for the Bill they had not removed the Barramundi, we asked to speak to management. When management came over and she tried to argue with us and told us to pay it, she argued we should have sent it back, we explained we did and then she called the waitress over to tell her off infront of us. Which we thought was Rude and unprofessional. Personally would not go back.

Big expectations with poor experience, not going back

We went to this restaurant based on reviews, the food, the entertainment, the venue. The venue is okay, the air cond did not handle the warm evening hence pedestal fans were brought in. Strange. We had cocktails which were nice, the fruit tingle. We decided on an entree which was the B&B, salt and pepper squid, pork belly covered in a sauce which totally ruined the flavour and a stuffed mushroom with an over powering tomato base in it for $20 each. $40 for this was an insult and something I would remove from the menu. The menu was limited in comparison with other restaurants nearby. It also advertised live entertainment. We asked, it was coming on at 8pm. Well it didn’t, another disappointment. Won’t be recommending it.

Totally disappointed

Not sure where to start. Barramundi tasted frozen. Steak was like chewing on an old shoe. Canned mushrooms in the gravy. Butter in the mash potato tasted rancid. My partner and I came away feeling awful. Staff were great. Just felt ripped off by the cost of really poor quality food 🙁

Complete rip off!

This place is completely over priced for what it is. Shared a mixed entree that was supposed to be pork belly( 2 tiny bite size pieces of bacon), salt and pepper squid that was rubbery with no sign of salt or pepper and one tiny stuffed mushroom! Our mains were Lamb Rump and Pork ribs. Ribs at least we're tender for $38. I'm pretty sure this place is stuck in the early 90', we definitely won't be back!!!.

Some of the worst food for crazy prices

We wondered in here by chance having done no research and not knowing what to expect. After going, I can’t believe there are good reviews. Our first glance at the menu it seemed like some great options, albeit at quite high prices. We decided to try the Beef Bourguignon, the Coconut Praws and some Olives on the side. The waitress was friendly and took our order in a timely fashion.. Well done there.. The service was about the only thing that stopped us just walking out. The prawns were $20.. There were 4 of them, and they were poor quality straight out of the freezer.. They had no firmness to them, it was just a soft mushy mess. Gross. The salad that came with it seemed as if it was straight out of a coles packet and no bigger than a small mandarin. The Beef was tasteless, dry, poorly presented. Not like what 12 hour cooked beef should be. We took about 80% of the meal home to the dogs, it was near inedible as well. No greens with it at all. That cost us $38. The olives are hard to screw up, but even those I believe were straight from a jar, chucked in the microwave to mask how crap they are.. Didn’t even finish them.. $10. Then the owner(?) or staff member it seemed got up and started singing… His voice was good but the performance just lacking and unfortunately after such disappointing food our patience had run out and it definitely didn’t improve our mood. What a shame!
