Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delicious, freshly prepared and invitingly plated dishes. We had the crowd pleasing Trawler's Haul, generous Greek salad and delicious falafel pockets. Good atmosphere for group get togethers.

Great pub menu the fish and chips was very good. We went twice during our weekend getaway. Happy hour was good with $12 cocktails and the rugby in the big screen

Went to have dinner with friends and I ordered the Eta Burger, the burger was awful, the meat patty was so dry and over cooked I could hardly cut it with a knife, the lettuce was wilted not fresh, the one tomato slice was mostly...green core. The chips were cold. disgusting meal. I asked the staff member to inform the cook, I did not receive any feed back. I will not eat there again.More

We were a party of 14 ladies on a weekend break enjoying a Friday night dinner together. The food and service was great and so was the entertainment. We all enjoyed the venue the only disappointing thing is they do not have a dessert menu....Never heard of an eatery not having dessert or even ice cream at least.More

I had the pasta. It was pre-cooked, luke warm and resembled rubber. The oil through it was not nice, 3 tiny pieces bocconcini and 2 tom thumb tomatoes plus some hard greens. I am still having it!

A big thank you to the Etta for hosting our Christmas Party last night (30/11/22). All who attended (100 Members) spoke very highly of the great food and service. I think the management and staff went well above what we expected to make us welcome...and comfortable. The food was well above Pub standards, the service by all staff was exceptional and the seating arrangements could not have been better. I can highly recommend to anyone wishing to eat out on the Peninsula you wont find better value for money, quality food and exceptional service Andrew Mckellar Deputy Unit Commander MRNSW Central Coast UnitMore

Weeknight meal. Fast service, good food well priced. Seafood seemed appropriate in this location and I wasn't disappointed. Good selection of beers.

I've given this restaurant a 1 star rating because of the DISGRACEFUL alleged "Mariner's" seafood" pie which I just had at $26. My view is that the menu-offered dry piece of pastry with dry contents allegedly comprising "seafood veloute, fish pieces, prawns, scallop" should be...condemned as a breach of the Trade Practices Act. My dish had a couple of small prawns, one tiny bit of fish and lots of vegetables and was dry and bland. I had to eat some of my dinner companions' calamari to obtain adequate protein. One companion's "Green Goddess Salad" was tasty but swimming in fattening mayo. The other companion's rump steak was "beautifully done". The calamari which both of them had was tender and tasty. So, a mixture of reactions, but I was not happy with the Mariner's pie - a complete rip-off.!More

My friends invited me to the Ettalong Hotel to celebrate our combined birthdays. Well were we disappointed. We were a table of 6 and not one of us had a meal that we would recommend. I had the Lousianna Crab and Shrimp Boil. Well did...they boil it. So boiled it just disintegrated in the shell. Even the hamburgers and steak sandwiches were average. The gnochi were so dry, there was no sauce at all. And to top it off, I wanted a brandy and dry and after being closed for three months, they had no brandy! And there's a bottle shop out the back! My friends are really disappointed because it is there local pub and they want to support it but the meals will have to improve. The bar staff were working well, it's the kitchen staff that need some pride in workmanship.More

Popped in for lunch mid week and impressive list of daily specials. Had the smoked chicken - fresh, tasty and good value. Popular venue for all ages. Order at bar and pick up from food hutch. Friendly locals as you go in through main bar.

Loads of people stopped by for a Tuesday lunch, almost full by 1.00 pm. The décor is way better than the old days and so is the food. We had eaten there several years ago and we weren't impressed with the quality of the food,...but now it has certainly improved. My sister is a local and only hears good things about the place. She chose the Trawlers Haul ($29) consisting of battered fish, signature squid, grilled prawns, scallops, chips, lemon & tartare; she loved every mouthful. My wife chose the Balsamic Roasted Mushrooms & Labneh ($21) including wilted baby spinach, dukkha cauliflower, salsa Verde & almonds. The mushrooms were succulent and the dish quite flavoursome, she loved it too!. I had a medium-well cooked, 300g, Sirloin steak ($26) with vegetables, a huge serve of chips and traditional gravy. The steak was well cooked and tasty and the accompaniments were delicious. We all loved our meals. We washed our meal down with delicious schooners of Lemon, Lime and Bitters. We were given a buzzer to collect our food from the well located kitchen. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The eating area was clean and the chefs and kitchen staff were super efficient. Empty dishes were removed when we had all finished our meals. Highly recommended for weekday lunch. We are looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.More

Stopped in for a cold drink on a hot day and was surprised that there was carpet down everywhere. In fact the carpet in the bistro lounge was deeper than the carpet at home. Beer garden was good. Not your average pub.
