Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The butter chicken is so odd. It’s not like any other I’ve tried. There is no spice or flavour it kind of just tastes like condensed milk it’s so sweet. You’d be better making your own from a jar honestly. The chicken is lovely and...tender but tastes like nothing. The rogan josh is better but for the small serving sizes it’s really not worth the $$$More

I dine at Indian Affair with two friends regularly. Our favourite dishes are Goan Fish Curry and Punjabi Lamb. The naan is perfect! It's such a pleasant dining experience with attentive and friendly service, a warm room on cold Canberra nights, good size portions and...sauces to die for.More

Food smelt amazing however it tasted watery and had no flavour. Not worth the $21.95. The only flavour in the samosas was potato. Naan bread was ridiculously small for the price and lacking garlic - it was like some one waved the garlic past the...bread.More

I tried An Indian Affair at 64 Colbee Court Philip. I grew up in the Woden area but had never been to her restaurant before. I felt like eating Indian last bank holiday weekend and did a google search of the best Indian restaurants in...Woden. There are quite a few and I haven’t tried them all, but this one got good reviews and I read that they have been operating in Phillip for 19 years. I figured I really must try it if it has survived for this many years. Unfortunately for me, they don’t have outdoor seating so I couldn’t take my dogs with me, but I got takeaway instead and took it back to my balcony so I could eat al fresco. Parking at lunchtime in Phillip can be difficult, but at dinner time there are plenty of spaces. They are super friendly at this place and the girl who took my order repeated it back to me which was good for clarity. She also asked what spice level I wanted. When I went to pick up the restaurant was moderately busy at 6.30pm on a bank holiday Sunday. I was given free popadums as I had ordered over a certain amount. They were made fresh when I went to pick up, so I had to wait a few minutes but I quote liked that they made them fresh upon pick up. Walking home we salivated over the smell of our curries. The quality of the meat was good and they tasted like the chef knew how to make a proper curry. To me the taste was authentic. We had Punjabi Murgh Masala $20.90, Dal Makhani $16.90, Beer Dalcha $20.90 and a garlic and a plain naan and some rice. We the complimentary popadums that fed 4 of us for dinner. I especially liked the chicken Punjabi Murgh Masala. Absolutely delicious. I would return. The only downside is no outdoor seating so I can’t take my dogs. Their opening hours are dinner Mon-Sat: 5:00pm - 10:00pm. They are BYO for bottled wine only.More

A group of us enjoyed a wonderful banquet at Indian Affair. Various entrees were served followed by several main dishes, with rice, naan and accompaniments. Everything was delicious and the price was very reasonable. We felt very welcome and were looked after with friendly service....BYO and licensed. Pleasant decor and atmosphere. Highly recommended!More

Ordered three dishes as a takeaway. We had a chicken, beef and vegetarian dish with an entree of onion bhajis. The chicken tikka masala mild was fine, as was the vegetarian dish (also mild) though neither nothing special. The beef was a medium spiced rogan...josh. Perhaps I'm more used to other restaurants but this was just beef and gravy. The Beef was a little on the tough side and the dish just lacked texture. Ramas does it better with a onions and tomatoes that you can see and that has a richness and texture that is just sublime. This version was ... ordinary.More

Indian affair is not worth your money ... very poor service and the food is not of a acceptable standard. We shared three mains and two entrees between the two of us but were disappointed in the quality of food and size of meal The...butter chicken was full of sugar and the rice was very dry.... unfortunately the chapati was not of a acceptable standard. I think you would do better by going to Woolworths and buying a prepared frozen curry!!More

Our visit was a delight. The food was culturally correct. The proportions were good and a properly hot temperature. The service was attentive. The restaurant was full but not noisy. The menu was broad and attractive. We will return.
