Beautiful old Inn which has all the charm you would expect from a period property. The staff were friendly and polite even going so far as to allow us the use of one of the guest rooms to change our son when a changing room was not available. The service was timely and given that the food was freshly prepared... More

If your ever in the Canterbury/faversham area I strongly recommend a visit to the white horse inn. A friendly pub/restaurant with a fantastic lunchtime & evening menu. They also serve a good pint of master brew bitter

Dinner was good with attentive waitress, although only 3 tables occupied. We had had lunch there on 2 previous occsions which was good & the restaurant was busy then.

I have eaten at The White Horse several times but this was the first for Sunday lunch. The prawn and crayfish cocktail to start was fresh. This was followed by a mains of turkey, pork meat stuffing, kilted sausage, gravy and vegetables. I paid an extra £1 for a homemade Yorkshire pudding. It was all well cooked and the portion... More

Liz and I are down in Kent for a week and on the day we visited the farms around Selling and Boughton where my relations used to go hop-picking and where my parents met, we popped into the White Horse for lunch. We chose it because my Uncle told me that this was the pub that the blokes used to... More

Last reviewed this one in August 2015, this occasion was a sunday afternoon about 3pm. To be honest we didn't expect it to be quite so busy but they had a large birthday party in which appeared to be well catered for. I hadn't booked so we had a table found for us towards the back which was fine, the... More

Description
The White Horse in Boughton is a historic pub restaurant with more than its fair share to offer guests. Not only is this ancient coaching inn mentioned in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, but its location in a glorious village surrounded by hop field lined walks to Mount Ephraim Gardens and the site of The Peasant's Last Revolt recommend this excellent stop before one even ventures inside. As you may well hope, The White Horse is beautifully traditional inside, with roaring log fires, low-beamed ceilings and a cosy, intimate feel. Meanwhile, outside beautiful landscaping has turned a pleasant pub garden in to an Englishmans dream. Locally renowned chefs are creating quite a stir in the kitchen with locally sourced food which has elevated The White Horse to gastropub levels, providing guests with the opportunity to enjoy high level food in the most comfortable of atmospheres. Sunday roasts take place weekly and occasionally the restaurant hosts live music events.
