Wazen is always welcoming, clean and efficient. Our food is always divine and I suggest it to my family every other week. The staff are lovely and I hope to remain a regular for a long time. I would recommend Wazen to absolutely anyone.
Plenty of reviews for this place that seem very positive. Personally it seems to offer the same standard of any normal chain on the Gold Coast.
Tried three times now as a matter of convenience but no major pull to return.
My husband and our 2 friends dined for the first time at Wazen on Saturday evening. The service and friendliness from the staff was exemplary. We ordered many of the smaller dishes so we could sample the different flavours on offer. Everything was delicious especially...the fried oysters and the Wagu beef. Although we were quite full when we finished our meal it was SO GOOD, that we ordered another 2 dishes, the tempura vegetables and more of the fried oysters...YUM YUM!!!
The chef and owner Katsu came out to introduce himself and welcome us, he was delightful. The restaurant is BYO wine only as they have Japanese beer on tap and organic wines on sale. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for this Friday, can't wait!!!More
3 of us came here for dinner. We all ordered a set type of meal ( average about $26 each ).
One of us had tofu, another chicken and the third person prawns.
We got a regular sized dinner plate with our choice from above...with some salad, rice and a few pieces of tempura vegetables. Sauce was drowned right through it but more disappointing was for a Japanese Restaurant serving a dinner like this for the price it seemed like an express lunch plate.
Service was poor although the initial greeting was nice. Very disappointing restaurant . We expected this meal in separate dishes - the usual Japanese way.
Not authentic - won't be going here again, many more better alternatives close by.
Rather embarrassing for Japanese people.More
