The restaurant is located between the train stations of Opfikon and Glattbrugg. Inside is nothing special, pretty simple, old style. The menu includes antipasti, risotto, pasta, meat, fish and pizza. We ordered a pizza and honestly we were expecting something better according to the well known name of the restaurant in Zurich. On my opinion you can have much better... More

Very authentic everyday Italian food. No special complicated modern dishes but everything you can dream about in a traditional Italian restaurant. Very well prepared with fresh ingredience. A bit of Italian arrogance is also what to expect when you go to a place like this, just enjoy it.

We went to Mamma Mia on a Friday at lunchtime. The place was really crowded and they somehow messed up the reservations, there were quite some people waiting for a table. After 10 minutes we then got one and were seated. Food orders were taken promptly and drinks and food came quickly. Very good pizzas and pasta. Would still go... More

I started visiting here when travelling on business. Now that I live in Zurich, it remains a place to go for good quality Italian food. It's a neighbourhood eatery, so very casual. The staff are friendly and they do good specials.

Came here for a quick business lunch and I ordered a Mediterranean salad. Found out only later it was pasta with salad, which is far to be typically Italian. Nevertheless, it was tasty and nicely dressed. Service was nice and staff was welcoming as you would expect from Italians :)

You can have a very good pizza or pasta there. Just some of them they serve with a "Swiss touch" (e.g. onions and cream in spaghetti carbonara - try to avoid that) Overall the food is tasty, price is cheap (for Switzerland) and even cheaper then some fast food pizza places. Tiramisu is great!

It is not obvious that there is much in way of restaurants in Glattburg, and coming across Mamma Mia was indeed welcome. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service very good, and the food absolutely fine.
