This is a historic restaurant right in the middle of Lindau island and my wife and I had a great meal there last night. We only had one course as we had eaten lots already at the Christmas Market, but that was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was prompt and very helpful English speaking staff who were very welcoming.... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Weinstube Frey on a Friday evening. We were seated in a semi-private room with two tables. We were a bit worried when we were told that a large group was in house, and that there might be a bit of a wait for our service. This turned out to... More

We stopped for lunch and although the food was good (we have to say that bad food is difficult to find in southern germany) the service was slow and definitley unfriendly. Shame.

The food is delicious and they have may authentic dishes. The variety for a traditional restaurant is great - something everyone ( even every kinder) will love. The soups, salads, and authentic meat dishes were out of this world! We have gone to many of the local places for many years over and this is our favorite. And if you... More

My family and I were in Lindau today in the off season; not a lot was happening. This place is right on the main square and we decided to give it a try. They did not have English menus but who need them; we did fine with the help of Google translate and our very nice waitress. We had the... More

We just happened to be walking by and were very happy to have stopped in. The place was full with only a larger table left. We had another couple walk in after us and we offered to share our table. That was a great experience as well. Lovely couple from Whales. There are no English menus but the lovely waitress... More

We enjoyed a genuine German meal here, but felt that the menu was a little limited. It was the one evening of a week's holiday when my wife (who speaks fluent German) ordered me a large Beer, and what arrived was most disappointing. But it was good enough to recommend.

We have stopped at this small bar and restaurant several times in recent years. Always good service and choice of wine and beers. In the summer there are tables outside, service is prompt and friendly. The building is medieval in origin and still has many original features. Well worth a visit if you're in Lindau.

The ambiance is great. The fish is super-fresh and perfectly cooked. Local wine choices are superb. We had a fantastic time.
