What a wonderful last meal before our departure back to Chicago. I had a perfectly prepared whole fish with roasted potatoes and husband had a schnitzel. We had terrific service, and were seated at a great location to observe the busy atmosphere on Friday night. Great place for a meal or outstanding German beer.

Our last dinner during our 2 week trip to Europe. We visited Oberammergau, Vienna, Sorrento and Rome and dined at many different restaurants. Most of them were overpriced and very touristy. This place was very different and we truly enjoyed the local food with authentic German small town atmosphere. There were some interactions with other diners, also enjoyed petting a very cute dog. Highly recommend this place.

This place is an institution.
It has that warm friendly welcome of a typical German beer house/eatery.
I arrived early for dinner which was just as well as all the tables had reserved signs on them.
I ordered the roast pork and dumplings which arrived at my table one minute after ordering them.
Pork was lovely, a bit fatty in places, dumplings were good, nice sauce, sadly the cabbage salad wasn’t anything special. Good friendly service. Beware you can’t use a credit card in Germany unless you make a minimum spend.

We found this place by accident as the restaurant we normally eat at was closed.....We always stay in Freising a couple days before we fly home. We have always strayed in the center of town, but for some reason everything was closing so we decided to keep walking...we almost gave up when we turned the corner and saw the white lights of the beer garden and decided to give it a try....WONDERFUL PLACE. We have celebrated a couple birthday parties here and they always seem to find room for us when we walk in. The draft beer is wonderful and some of the best German food we have eaten. Staff is entertaining, but super busy .

As we arrived, we could already tell the place would be great, as there was a full crowd of locals. As we sat, the waiters were busy and not overly friendly, but also did not make us wait long (they also provided a menu in English, which was helpful. We ordered schnitzel, (which is a must in Germany) and were not disappointed! Wonderfully made, and amazing potato salad. We also ordered french fries, because, why not? I have to say, they were hot, crunchy and just wonderfully delicious! We loved the location, atmosphere and drinks! Fully recommend!

The waiters are unfriendly and rude, the food is thrown carelessly onto the plates, the salad is a bag with cocktail sauce poured over it, the steak is a thin piece of cake with cold chips and a thimbleful of herb butter. The prices are completely excessive - it was my last visit and I won't be recommending it to anyone. What a pity.

We came here on Easter Sunday for a white sausage breakfast and were surprised to find a place because almost all the tables were reserved for 12 o'clock.
It is a wonderful Bavarian inn with beautiful decoration,
traditional and quaint! Service is wonderful, friendly and quick, the white sausages cost money but are also much bigger than the "industrial" ones.
A white beer with them certainly can't hurt.

We ate here on our last night in Bavaria before returning to the US the following morning. The food offered here is classic Bavarian fare and was simple but good. Be sure to look at the German menu to really understand what you are ordering (the US translations often miss what the classic dish actually is). We did not have a reservation so had to eat inside the restaurant which was a bit stuffy. If you go, try to make a reservation so you can sit outside!

Stop here. Eat here. Drink here. The food is so amazing, the beer flows and wins id good. I never had duck that was so crispy and delicious. The dinner for 2 option we had was out of this world and easly could feed 4 adults
Will come back to Freising just for this restaurant

We had enough time to explore the neighborhood of the Munich airport and choose a place for a late lunch.
The staff was very friendly, they served us an excellent steak although it wasn’t in the menu at that time.
Food was very tasty, mushrooms soup, schnitzel, potatoes salad, not to mention the steak!
You have to try apple strudel as well!

Small restaurant with authentic Bavarian atmosphere. Varied menu, however they do not have an authentic wienerschnitzel which is made with veal. There's is made with pork. Prices are reasonable. Expect to be seated with other patrons if you are one or two people.

Meal was good in general, but I think the steak was not close to medium rare. Not worth for that price and size… personally me - have had better made steaks.
Beer was very nice. But overpriced.
Suggest to take something else, more typical to local food.

I was looking forward to some nice Bavaria n food and hence decided for the Krustenbraten. The meat was very hard and try, not what I would expect for the signature dish in my opinion. The Kartoffelknödel was good. The Semmelknödel was really bad. I didn't even recognize it as Semmeknödel and could not eat it. Maybe something went wrong with the recipe that day...i don't know. One from the Supermarkt is better. I like the location and the atmosphere.

Good day. We visited this restaurant on Sunday because of the ranking (number 1 in Freising). Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. It may have been a bad day, but the bad impression remains. If this is number 1 in Freising, then I'd rather stay in Munich and eat there.

I lived in Freising for 8 years (Vimystraße 1c) until July 2016 and this was my go to place for local fare. Great service, comfort food, great value. If the weather is nice sit outside in the Biergarten. Can't be beat for gemütlichkeit and convivial ambience.
I highly recommend it and hopefully I will be back soon.
I hope the Familie Wagner can keep the place going during this pandemic. Daumen Drücken!
