Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked 30 minutes from the Marriott Hotel and we were glad we did. We dined on a Sunday with pleasant weather so the beer garden was open and busy. We chose to eat in the service area rather to self-service and eat at the picnic tables. Inside would have been nice because we would have avoided the smoke from the ever present cigarettes.
Our server was pleasant and we enjoyed the pretzels, beer, wine and selected entrees.

Excellent restaurant attached to the abbey, typical Bavarian specialties. The beers are good, especially the dark "Corbinian". A special mention to Nazareno who took care of us "Italians" by recommending the most characteristic dishes on the menu.

There were eight of us in the Bräustüberl and we had reserved the Korbinianstüberl. Very cozy, a private, quiet space with a nice ambience. The food and the wide selection of beers convinced all around. The porcini soup was excellent, salads with char fillet or goat cheese impeccable, side salads wonderfully fresh, the pork neck, the roast pork, the mountain schnitzel, the pheasant breast and the bark loin steak just as it should be. The espresso from Dinzler very good. Value for money totally ok. We were very pleased with the extremely nice, attentive, fast and humorous service. In short, we had a really nice, enjoyable evening and would love to come back! Thanks to the great team from Bräustüberl!

I am local from freising and I took my friend there for a special birthday lunch.
We ordered a Christmas special meal for 2 with duck and veal. The food arrived quite fast and was Luke warm, as if straight out of the microwave and not heated well enough. The serving of meat was tiny, only 1 duck breast and 2 small slices of veal for 2 people. We started eating and then complained, there was no apology, but our food was taken away, warmed up and brought again. We had to ask again for the 2 sauces to be heated and we received only one of them back.
We paid € 41,00 for that dish it was really not worth it.
Unpleasant experience & service

Arrived around 14:30 and expected to have a nice meal here. One of the waitresses told us that the menu was at that time the same as in the Biergarten, we thank her and went to the Biergarten seating area. I went to order my food at the Biergarten counter, when I saw a kind of fly sweaming in the water of the dumplings. When I drove the attention to it to the serving philipin (?) lady, she just plonged her bare hand in the water to remove it. When I order half of a “Schweinhaxe” she also took it with her bare hand and put it in my plate. Well the hygiene measures seem to be quite relax here. The meat was dry. The Bier was good (I took a small pint). The whole experience has been disappointing, food and hygiene need to improve.

We were very excited to visit the brewery and restaurant as it was decided we would visit from Munich on one of the three days we had.
Having been to Munich plenty of times and to sit down in a beer hall and get the waiter/waitress attention is normal, we made the mistake to do the same here. We should have waited to be seated although there was plenty of empty tables and no staff around
Fair enough, our mistake. But, we it didn’t deserve the waiter and waitress talking loudly about us not saying hello and the continued dirty looks.
We apologised and ordered drinks but unfortunately they continued to create a negative atmosphere even though we were reasonably quiet and polite.
We just had one (delicious) weißbier each and left to eat and drink in town. It’s a shame as we intended to try a lot of the beers and to have a meal. They missed out on four thirsty and hungry men and what would have been a generous tip as is our way when we all pay together.
In summary, the beer is fantastic but the service was a shame. I accept we made the mistake but don’t act like angry five year olds.
(There was a maintenance man and a man sweeping who were both really funny and polite).

After a visit to the Weihenstephan gardens we had lunch in the beer garden of the Bräustüberl Weihenstephan.
There was no problem with the self-service, except that the German service staff was extremely unfriendly when serving food, but this was made up for by the Asian staff.
My wife had ribs, a bit dry, and I had a roll roast with a fantastic-looking crust. However, it remained the same in appearance. It tasted so penetrating of old sow that the rest of the food was no longer a treat.
Because of the food, you don't have to go there.

Christmas dinner with 20 people. Bad food, watered down sauces and soup, spaetzle like a large pack from the supermarket. Roast pork slices not even 5mm thick. Then you get rudely reminded to pay, even though you were told when you made the reservation that you could stay as long as you wanted. The "boss" of the house overturned it and booked the place out 3 times instead of 2. The kitchen was overwhelmed.

The experience was a real culinary journey to discover flavors and gastronomic combinations worthy of Bavarian cuisine. If you want to taste dishes of excellent quality, the Bräustüberl Weihenstephan becomes a mandatory stage. I conclude by writing that the service has always been very courteous, kind and efficient.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. We feel like the portions are much smaller than they used to be. The summer salad with baked chicken was relatively small and nothing special, the chicken tasted like Kentucky Fried Chicken, so it wasn't good. The other dishes were OK, but for this price you can definitely expect more. We won't be going there anymore.

This afternoon, the two of us visited the Braustüberl beer garden. There were only a few tables occupied, two waiters were present and the manager was on duty. So it was actually a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, we were completely ignored for about fifteen minutes; none of the waiters came to the table or signaled that they had seen us. We were sitting next to a table with other guests, so not out of the way at all. After fifteen minutes of pointless waiting, we finally went somewhere else in frustration. What is wrong with the Braustüberl that something like this can happen?

It was our last night in the Munich area and our hosts suggested this venue for a true Bavarian evening. The approach was atmospheric and the welcome inside warm. We all tried different food from the wide menu and none of us were disappointed- even the vegetarian who loved her wild mushrooms.
I am no expert on lager type beers but the couple I tried were delicious. One lady preferred wine and was very happy with a drier white. An excellent suggestion for our last night in Bavaria in a friendly, lively (not too lively!) brewery/ restaurant with plenty of atmosphere. Recommended without any reservations (which are recommended!).

Fabulous place for those of us who love good food and good beer. We were here years ago and everything is always at the top. The children also liked the location and the dishes. Thanks also to the advice of Riccardo who advised us and suggested the delights of the menu.... We are a little distant.. but a bit of our heart remained there...

The Bräustüberl is a very cozy restaurant. It offers typical Bavarian cuisine as well as international specialties. Of course, you can drink the beer specialties from the local brewery there, which you can also buy to try. The service is very friendly and attentive! As the restaurant is very popular, you should definitely make a reservation.
