I ate here twice in the course of a few days because I enjoyed it so much the first time.
On the first occasion we shared the prawn starter. They even asked how we would like them cooked! Top marks.
The steak for the main course was exactly the right portion size; not too big or too small. It was cooked exactly as ordered and was tender and tasty.

We stayed in Freising at the end of a family trip to Bavaria. We were looking for a nice restaurant to eat and finding Kathi’s definitely was a win! There was a lovely covered courtyard outdoor seating area where we sat. Our server was fantastic and the food was delicious. The menu was quite extensive and offered something for everyone. I had the summer salad with duck breast and sautéed mushrooms which was amazing. Two of my kids had lamb which was delicious. My other daughter had the lobster bisque which she loved and then had the filet/pasta dish. My husband had a steak which also was perfectly prepared. Dessert was delicious as well. Even my daughter with food allergies (egg and peanut) was able to get sorbet for dessert which she was thrilled with. It is a little more expensive that some of the other restaurants we ate at while on our vacation but compared with steak houses in the US, we felt the prices and food quality were well worth it! We would definitely eat here again.

Good food, good service, good atmosphere. The Cesar Salad with Salmon strips was really a large piece of Salmon with a small salad on the side. It was very good even if it wasn’t what one might ordinarily expect. We shared the Vitelli Tonato appetizer. It was excellent and would have been fine as a main plate. It was substantial. Glad we shared it. We will definitely return when we are back in town.

We have been touring with a group for more than two weeks. We wanted a steak dinner and quality wine— this place delivered on both needs. The meat is of exceptional quality and the portions are generous. I ordered a 150 g beef filet and added seasonal vegetables and a salad. I did not finish the salad. My husband selected an option from the June specials—veal tomahawk. It was a full meal served with delicious sides. If you like chocolate, we recommend the warm cake with a runny center (aka “lava cake”).
Our server made every effort to make our experience exceptional.

First visited in Feb, food was not satisfactory. Fast forward to Oct , was thinking to give them a second chance.
The visit was absolutely unpleasant, greeted by a very rude staff gabby, i tried to be accommodating asking if the table is ready? Because i saw tabke was still dirty and without the usual fork knofe and cloth, to my shock , she was very reluctant to clean it and shown very unhappy dafe to me. Later her colleague came to take over from her, and gave all sort of excuses for her colleague bad behavior and many excuses to justify the rudeness.
Food- king prawn under cook, some part were hard due to undercooked
Garlic bread soggy with too much oil
Lobster soup- sour !
Unfortunately no more 3rd time visit.

There were two of us here during the week.
Starter beef tartare: super tasty, rarely eaten so well
For the main course we each had a steak with various side dishes. Here too, everything was really first class!
The service was also absolutely convincing.
We would love to come back.

The best steakhouse i have ever been to around the world.
The service is great as they have state of the art experts who work there as well as amazing chef.
Make sure to order the old fat cow steak and enjoy. They also have great wine selection to pair with the steaks. Thank you so much for keeping the same quality as always!

I was invited on my last night here on holiday with family at this restaurant. At first glance you think ohh what an extravagant place and ambiance but that was not the case. We were sat on the outer area which was not bad but in comparison to the main restaurant it felt like another place on another level.
Then the drink order was taken, waiters were very nice to us, then the drinks came to us and we ordered food.
As they brought the plates you can see it was nothing special. As we took the first bit front he Beefmaster Burger, you can imminently note the burger was ice cold. We were asked the way we wanted it to be cooked we said medium and it came over welldone. The “angus” burger was clearly not medium, not fresh and cooked a second time. You bit through all the concoctions and it was ice cold. The cheese on top was not melted, it was so dry as you took it off the patty it fell like broken plaster. My uncles “best in the world” steak cooked medium well when he specifically asked for a medium, can’t be more simple than that. On another note it wasn’t the measure they said it was. It was merely a fist full and he was left feeling hungry.
We complained to the waiter, who again was very nice to us, but nothing was resolved. The steak €49 and the burgers were €31 all served with “fresh homemade fries” from the Aro metro. We were utterly disgusted with the whole experience as we expected so much more. And both my uncles are catering professionals, chefs so they expected a certain caliber from a place like this.
With all this being said we still ended up paying €210 no compensation was given not even a drink on the house nothing.

My wife and I walked past Kathi’s earlier in the day and thought we should go back based on the menu alone - it definitely has a bit of a North American steakhouse feel as opposed to authentic Bavarian, but seeing as we were going to be in europe for 2 weeks we felt this was a good starting point.
Everything about this place is perfect. The food, wine, service and atmosphere were all exceptional. Both of our meals were excellent, the beef was cooked perfectly, and the wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly as well.
If you want to sit inside, make a reservation - otherwise there are plenty of outside tables.

Meat is good. Very good. And they know how to make it in a proper way, which is the point of a steakhouse!
Good beer choice (somehow out of the beaten path, at times - so even better) but limited selection of wines (too bad for nicer pairings).
Service is attentive, at times slow. Pre-dinner cocktails are not up to par with the rest. Stick to good pint or a bottle of their craft brews selection.

We tried the restaurants rated #1 and 4 and I can tell you definitively, Kathi's was much better than both. Service was excellent, the food was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. For dinner I had the ribeye and my husband had the fillet. His potatoes au gratin were better than my fries with sour cream, but the fries were hot and crispy, I just preferred the cheesy potatoes. Both were actually delicious. We liked it so much we went back for lunch and both had the Kathi's classic (steak tips) which was delicious and very reasonably priced. Honestly though, the service (with two different servers) was WAY better than the other two restaurants we tried. Service was prompt and friendly and with a smile. I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

We were looking for a restaurant between the airport and our hotel. This one had great reviews according to TripAdvisor. We made reservations and happy to report this is amazing! Service was excellent and food was excellent! I would definitely recommend this place and plan to return on my next visit.
