Titisee is a super town and this bar has such potential. BUT the staff are treated in a terrible way. The owner has an atrocious attitude & the most unhelpful manner. A 'hot whiskey' is definitely out of the question!

Its in the middle of a very touristy area but keeps its "old school" style and charm. You can smoke inside and the staff were all very friendly.
We went to the village of Titisee/Neustadt to see some of the locals. Unfortunately this German village is not that mondain/outspoken. The big hotels are not that hospitable, therefore after searching and asking we ended up in the Schwarzbrennerei. The locals do have a good...More
A great little place that seems popular with the locals, we went in for a quick drink after we had eaten somewhere else and were instantly made welcome and felt at home. It didn't end up being quite such a quick drink after all, once...More
My husband and I were there for drinks. It was my husband's birthday and the owner kept it open until 1 am. We ended up talking to everybody in the bar. We really enjoyed the night there!
The place looks charming enough inside with dark wood paneling and local paintings on the wall. There are a few small tables draped across the outside wall, and the inside is mostly a large bar with two or three tables tucked into the corners. The...More
Traditional german atmosphere! In summer the majority of the staff on day shift are wearing traditional german gowns which makes this place ideal for travellers who want to experience german culture.
We've read the reviews and decided to give the place a visit We are a family with 4 kids When we got there it was very cold outside but inside they have very limited space, so far that wasn't a problem as it did look...More
We drive the hour from our home near Schaffhausen just for the Flammkuchen! It is the very best we've ever had. I usually start with a bowl of the soup of the day, which is always delicious too. Schwarzbrennerei felks like a cozy, local oasis...More
We were a bit disheartened wandering around Titisee for the first time. Although it's a lovely little place, the restaurants all looked very touristy and rather disappointing. But this small bar was a godsend - friendly staff and good quality no-nonsense German pub grub. Recommended!
