Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great variety of Mexican style dishes. Very groovy decor, friendly staff. Good choice if alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. I loved my nachos - beans or chicken are the choice

I’ve been to yellow Bird several times - because the foods great and happy hour beers and tacos can’t be missed. But last Friday my friends and I had booked a table for dinner and had a really bad experience. There was a really drunk...male who kept pestering myself and another female friend while we were trying to eat our dinner. I asked him to stop several times until he got really aggressive and broke several glasses. He was friends with the bartender and they were feeding him shots and after a long time of putting up with this man he got even more aggressive when my male friend stood up for us and told him to leave us alone. The bar staff handled this really badly and didn’t make him leave or anything. I loved this place but don’t think I will be coming back after this- we booked here to show our friends in town a good night and I felt as though we weren’t treated well as customers dining for dinner and I don’t think it was acceptable that he wasn’t told to leave. Wasn’t an enjoyable experience.More

Yellow bird is my favorite place for mexican food. The serves are generous. Happy hour daily with tacos for $3.50. Great place to eat 👍

Went here for drinks pre dinner when we were in the area. The staff were great, the drinks good, the sangria was delicious. The place had a good vibe. Ended up staying 2.5hrs when we thought we would just have one drink.

We came here for lunch and really enjoyed it. It serves the exact food that you expect from this place and the big servings to go with it. The best time to come is when you're starving and thirsty. Burgers, burritos, tacos, fried chicken and...an all day breakfast area all in the menu. You can't go to far wrong! Value for money wise, it's not too bad with meals costing between $15-$25. Drinks were also a fair price, although probably better value if you're drinking a beer than a soft drink. The chicken burger and chips was good and filling and at around $20 a bit of a steal really. My wife's meal of chicken and corn salsa salad was also pretty decent, again around the $20 mark. There seemed alot to choose from on chapel street but this was one of the few places that seemed open. In saying that I think there is a pretty loyal following for this place. There seemed like lots of seating so not sure booking is necessary, they also have some outside seating which would be great for people watching when it's not too hot outside. If given the chance I'd go back for lunch there.More

Staying in the area for a few weeks with work and I found myself at Yellow Bird nearly every day. Great booze, great food, great music, great staff. When you do the simple things right, it’s pretty easy.

Fantastic pumpkin and beetroot salad with Danish feta and pine nuts. Held together with a light unknown sauce. I forgot to take a photo because I had eaten it in haste

The place is dark and covered in neon esq posters. The food is good. Particularly the fish tacos, they were very tasty!

We quite regularly go here if we fancy a burger! The tastiest fresh burgers will greet you with generous portion sizes. Very friendly staff and the decor is very different and lovely to look at. Really nice breakfast also 👍🏼

Nice and quiet at around 10am on a Wednesday morning for breakfast. The corn fritters with vegan cheese (add mushrooms, hash browns, spinach and any other extras) for a yummy filling brekky. Good coffee, too!

Trying to find good craft beer. Sad selection including uninteresting American beers. Ordered an Amber lager that wasn't an Amber. Place has the appearance of being funky but that is where it ends. Staff are young and lack interest. And took my glass away before...I'd finished...seriously big no-no.More
