This is a truly authentic Turkish restaurant unlike many. We lived in Turkey so know what authentic Turkish is. Very reasonably priced BOY but week nights only.

Incredible food and fantastic service. The waiter Serdar and the other a waitresses were on their toes and providing genuinely good service. My favourite Turkish restaurant by far.
Ben is the best host which I saw , too much frindly and awesome customer service , very happy to be there,
I came here with a large group of friends and we decided on ordering the banquet just to make life easier. Obviously the staff were busy as the restaurant was full but that doesn’t detract from how slow everything was. Drinks took about 15 minutes...to arrive at the table and the staff who were on I don’t think have worked in hospo at all. I find it hard to critique service people but these guys were honestly terrible. Slow, uncommunicative, made us hand them items they didn’t want to reach for. And I haven’t even mentioned the food. For a $60 per head banquet I made the assumption we’d get a nice amount of food with large portions. Absolutely not. The amount of food we got was actually a joke. I’ve never seen such tiny portions- especially for Middle Eastern food. There was enough that everyone got one item- but if you wanted seconds, think again. My rating here is 3 stars simply because everything was flavored nicely I can’t fault that. But I can’t look past simply over-paying for a tiny quantity. Won’t be returning.More
Breads and dips are amazing. Clay pot was disappointing and very bland in favours. Cosy place good ambience and quite busy.
Phenomenal Middle Eastern food served by this legend is our fav. You can easily say that this is our place to go to for a very delish and comforting meal. Order any damn thing and rest assured, it'll turnout AMAZING
My family had a dinner in this cafe Saturday night. The restaurant is small but has interesting design which actually creates Turkish atmosphere. For drinks we had sour cherries juice and Turkish delight cocktail. We choose halloumi as entree and eggplant dish as main for...my wife and standard banquet which included dips as entree and mixed grill (such as lamb cutlets, chicken and beef kebabs and some flat cut meat like downer kebab in sauce) as main for me and my daughter. Also it was included small desert . All portions actually were not big but we finished dinner filling full. All dishes were delicious. It was a delay with its deliveries to table, but manager apologised and explained that one of their kitchen staff didn’t come. Bad luck. Some time it happens. Totally it was very nice dinner.More
We've been keen to visit Marmara for a while. So it was shortly after COVID restrictions eased that we were able to come here. Marmara did a bang-up job! We were so pleased with the menu and the food. Mixed grill, seafood claypot and a...lamb claypot were all excellent. The service was genuinely welcoming (of course, after nearly 3 months!) but everything worked out well. Support them...they are deserving.More
Really friendly staff, very welcoming, and great service. We contacted the restaurant beforehand and they helped us with what could be made vegan, thank you. I loved my dish, and the restaurant veganised the Turkish bread for me which was greatly appreciated. Could not fault...the food, enjoyable for myself and the other people I was dining with. I recommend the Imam Fainted dish.More
Marmara is a stalwart on Chapel Street with some customers we met being patrons for many years. Very Turkish setting and quiet. Good for a large group or just two.Interesting selection of food. We had the "Iman Fainted", baby eggplant lightly pan seared, then oven...baked with a covering of diced tomato, capsicum & garlic. A fresh garden salad and bulgur rice at the side. We then had the traditional beef dumplings( manti); more akin to a Turkish version of gnocchi. We shared both dishes; the dumplings for just one person would have been too much. The dish reminded us of manti we had in small Turkish villages many years ago. The wine list has an interesting mix of Turkish, Greek, French, Italian and Australian. Reasonably priced and you can BYO for $10 per bottle. Strongly recommend.More
The lamb skewers were awesome and was melting in the mouth.. slow cooked lamb shoulder were good but skewers was damn good...
We went here for dinner on our first night in Melbourne. The food was fantastic and the service was great. We shared all of the dishes.
We were seated at the front of the restaurant next to the window. It was the best seat in the restaurant as it looked a bit dark inside. Between the two of us we had the mixed dips (hummus, tzatziki, carrot, and eggplant), with Turkish...bread, grilled calamari, and seafood claypot. The homemade dips were so tasty. My favourite dip was hummus and tzatziki for my partner. The calamari was so fresh and tender, grilled to perfection. The seafood claypot was hands down our favourite dish of the night. The dish didn’t look amazing but the taste was outstanding. The seafood was so fresh, cooked to perfection, delicious, and all deshelled so easy to eat (no fuss and clean fingers). Everything was so nice and flavoursome. The service was also good, we will definitely go back.More
On a easy week day, last week I along with my fellow team mates and family members (group of 30), we had such an amazing time. We had a set menu of entrees, with amazing dips and bread, their lamb with a dark brown sauce is...to die for, so succulent and tender, and their sea food is good too and we had a decent selection of desserts too. Not to mention I was so impressed with the service which made it so easy and they did serve with wonderful smile and that is fantastic, truly impressed. I would recommend the Restaurant for everyone to come and see the difference yourself and to anyone who's planning to come with group, you will love the food and the way they serve the food.More
This is my 2nd visit over the course of a couple of years a d on both occasions it has been superb. The lamb cutlets were amazing the best I've had and what a generous portion! Equally good was the lentil soup the bread as...well as the dips All in all could not be faulted.More
