Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great for a semi casual night out with friends. The place is bubbling with an eclectic cliental which give it a wonderful ambience. The menu is amazing and food for vegetarians is yummy! Go in a group or as a couple. Loved the back pre/post...dinner drinks area with the view of the mural. Definite place to go.More

I have never written a bad review in my life but I was very disappointed. Service was bad and half the meals were brought out, then 30 minutes later the second half of the meals were brought out. No apology was made. Food was average...overall not a good experience. Would not recommend lots of nice places to go on chapel.More

What an amazing sight to see your wonderfully delicious food at Ron Lave Stadium. It was a breath of fresh air amongst other food vendors. Please stay there as the very best alternative to chips and other not so delicious food.

Wow! An early dinner after a crazy week. Staff amazingly attentive. Can highly recommend the Schnitty Bao, the Tempura Broccoli, MFC - Miyagi Fried Chicken, and Edamame. All absolutely delicious. What a range of cocktails. We will dine again - there is so much to...try.More

Booked a school holiday Friday night treat here after loving Mr Miyagi's "One Night Stand" experience in our local area during COVID lockdowns. My 2 boys and I couldn't have been more impressed with our overall experience. From the moment we were seated to the...terrific menu offerings, staff recommendations, fantastic drinks and exceptional food. We had such a great night and can't wait to come back.More

I celebrated my birthday there and all of us had food poising. It’s not the cake we had a my my house, as the only three people not effected are the people who did not go to the restaurant and only had the cake. It...is with great disappointment writing this after having been looking forward to my 40th, booking there at the sincere recommendation of my friend and paying $750 for a meal/drinks for 6 people. Incredibly disappointing.More

The food is bland and thoughtlessly put together. The whole experience is like being hustled. Ridiculously small portions, essentially flavourless and doused in some boring, cheap sauce. By the end, you feel fleeced, because that’s exactly what happened.

This seemed an interesting, lively place to eat, so visited with 2 friends. Long wait at the entrance to be acknowledged and eventually shown a table - to wait and wait and wait for any form of service. Eventually orders were taken, but food arrived...in a haphazard fashion with no logic to the arrival. One main course order was completely forgotten and the wait staff could not have cared less. Eventually it arrived, together with bad attitude. The food was interesting and quite good but not enough to offset the worst service ever encountered anywhere in the world. Think very carefully before you go here. We will never return.More

Wow, what a surprise to see the menu on offer. We chose the hand made roll, the panko prawn dawg, the nori taco's, one with salmon and the other eggplant. They were all excellent and very flavorsome. The only downside was the service. Very rushed!...We arrived and as they were taking us to our table asked if we would like tap or sparkling water. I said tap. Then if we wanted edamame. This was all before we sat down. Every time we finished something, they hounded us for another order, even when I said we wanted that food to settle before ordering more. It was very rushed and seemed they just wanted to get us out of there so they could get more in. Their excuse the last time was it may take 15 mins for the food to come out. Everything came out in less then 5 mins. We would like to eat there again, but wish the service was a bit more relaxed.More

Had been waiting to go to this restaurant for 2 years ( covid ) and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing, I had Miso Mushie Bao and they were little pillows of heaven, delightful. Then the Tempura Brocolli, I could eat that everyday....Followed by the Shiitake Dumplings, also delicious. My friends had prawn and chicken dishes that they said were delicious also. Last and not least the cocktails, want to go back and try all of them. A fabulous evening with friends, wonderful food and great service. I will definitely be going back.More

Disappointed! I used to frequent this restaurant 5 years ago and love it so when I was in town I was excited to go back. We were really disappointed. They need to pick up their game as the menu is tired and dating. Wasn’t thrilled...with anything I ate. Staff were friendly but also inattentive, we ordered a bottle of Veuve champagne and it sat on our table and we poured it ourselves. Idk, I’d expect that from somewhere where I BYO a wine but not here. Unfortunately wouldn’t return or recommend anymore.More

I went to Mr Miyagi the other night for what would be at least my 10 visit now. I usually rave about the experience but this was by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered and I will not be going back. We...had made a booking a week prior online for 5 people. When we arrived, we sat at the table which was set for 5 but had an extra space for a 6th person as I had noted many times before. Shortly after, our friend arrived to temporarily sit with us. At this point, the host came over and told our guest the booking was only for 5. We quickly explained that she is only staying for a short while and would not be eating a single thing due to religious reasons. She is an observant Jew and cannot eat anything not prepared in a certain way. The conversation quickly become tense when other staff interjected and harshly forbid our friend from staying in the restaurant. They said that if she is to sit then we need to move to the booth table which is for 6+ people. However this comes with a $90 set menu which has to be paid by all 6 guests and all of these are booked out. Again we explained that she CANNOT eat a single thing. She is just there to be included in a celebratory dinner for one of the guests. She shouldn’t be excluded from the event because of her religion. We emphasised that she will only be there for a short while and then will happily leave. Instead of being understanding or respectful, we were told that we are trying to cheat the system and steal money from the restaurant. We were yelled at and made to feel terrible. The money comments were particularly disgusting and borderline anti Semitic. This carried on for some time with staff going back and forth trying to decide what to do. One waiter particularly was so aggressive and rude. He wouldn’t relent and told us how unfair this is to the the restaurant and that we are not special so why should we be treated differently than everyone else. Throughout this whole ordeal, we apologised over and over again and said we honestly thought we were doing the right thing. We knew only 5 people were eating so that’s what we booked for. We weren’t going to book for 6 people and then be forced into doing the chef set menu at $90 a person AND then our friend would have to pay $90 to simply sit on a chair and not eat ANYTHING!!!! Although incredibly expensive, because of how embarrassed we felt, we said we will pay the $90 but please can she not be forced to pay. If she is, she will obviously leave and that’s so humiliating and degrading for her. After much negotiation, they bugrugently agreed. Now, not only did that transpire but immediately as dessert was placed on the table, the same aggressive waiter informed us that we had now overstayed our 1.5 hour sitting and should be charged an extra fee for this. However, we did the set menu and we literally still had food coming. It is not our fault that the food didn’t come out in time and dessert was brought out a long time after we had finished everything else. That’s the responsibility of the restaurant and definitely should not be attributed to the customers. The waiter was so rude and essentially told us to eat our dessert immediately and get out. As a group, we were incredibly upset by this experience. We were completely put off our food and left nearly $100s out of pocket each.More

Food was very underwhelming. Nothing special, no real flavour. Ridiculously expensive for what you get. Tiny little portions that they’ve slapped a crazy price tag on. We left hungry and really disappointed. If you love yelling at dinner and not being able to hear your...table then this place is for you. Don’t waste your time when there are so many places around with actual good foodMore
