This is a fantastic bar. The bar manager Sam made our transition from a different venue to the Lucky Coq amazing and made us feel so welcome.

Fantastic spot for a drink and food. Caters well for big groups, and also for individuals. Reasonably priced and a good environment.

Careful with those bouncers, one of them are really aggressive and rude to people with different accent . They will actually accuse you selling drugs just to get rid of people. This happen a lot of times

I have a welsh accent a member of staff couldn’t understand what I ordered. He was really blunt with me taking my order because he didn’t understand and even kept eye rolling. when my food then came out wrong I asked him to sort it....His attitude was disgusting and acted as if everything was huge effort and slammed the correct order onto the table.More

Delicious $4 pizza specials, always busy, great location on chapel street. Best to bring cash as they have a 20$ minimum on cards and bring ID, everyone gets asked, even an oldies like me

I went to Lucky Coq with my little brother coming to visit me all the way from Europe, and the bouncer didn't want to let him in because "he didn't look him properly in the eyes" when he checked his passport!! Seriously? This is the...most ridiculous reason I've ever heard! It's a shocking abuse of power and it should not exist. The bouncers think they are Kings in that place, abusing and insulting poeple as they wish. After they denied us entry, they said I wasn't even allowed to stay on their foothpath. I also tried to explain the insanety of the situation to the manager, "Max Smithers", but he was of no help pretending he couldn't do anything against the bouncer's decision. Went here for a family wedding, great atmosphere, a cool vibe, I didn’t eat but was told the pizza and nachos were amazing

Came here to grab some cheap pizza and drinks on a Friday afternoon. There’s a cool lounge area downstairs and bar and open area upstairs. Great value, relaxed and fun.

The place is really cosy. Drinks are affordable and i loved the atmosphere ! They have an outdoor section as well which is really nicely decorated

I’ve been to this venue a number of times in a number of different states and never had an issue, however, last Friday night was different. Turns out you can get pretty messy at this joint and they won’t mind, but if you use the...men’s toilets, be sure that you’re in the mood for some not so nice arm grabbing followed by some stern telling off by a security guard that loves flexing the self perceived power that comes with wearing a lanyard with a couple numbers on it and a walkie talkie. It was around 10pm on a Friday so it was quite early for my standards, my friends and I had walked upstairs to the bar and I excused myself to go to the toilet. The woman’s was full so I decided to use the men’s, which for me has never been an issue at other venues, especially on Chapel St. I see no difference in what toilet I use as I sit down do my biz and leave, regardless of what gender is on the door #staywoke. However, as soon as I exited the men’s toilets to join my friends at the bar, I was grabbed and questioned as to why I used the men’s. I calmly explained that the females was full, I really needed to go, and also told him I didn’t understand why it mattered what toilet I used. Sure enough the people I was with caught a glance at this security arm grabbing me, questioning me for using them mens in 2018 on Chapel Street gee no way, a fight then escalated due to my average treatment, where we were pushed out onto Chapel with security guards pushing people in front of cars and so on...messy. Won’t be spending my money here ever again and will be sure to share my experience with everyone including people that don’t care or don’t want to hear it xx also keep clear if you’re transgender because I can guarantee they’re not understanding at all :)More
