Very sad, we had visited this pub in the past and have always had a great meal, sadly not today, the sea bass was off as was the rack of lamb, my husband had saddle of lamb that arrived nearly raw, the lamb had been advertised with dauphinoise potatoes, they came with mash, I had belly of pork served on... We came here for valentines night, and there was no special food, just the usual menu. A few items on the menu and blackboard were either not available or not as described, but the still sounded tasty. The food was nice and well presented, the steak a little tough, and the sea bass was cod. Small portions, so we were... More

We met our friends, who came from Southampton area at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, near Petersfield for a walk with our Greek Labrabor. We had booked a pub lunch close by but due to a power cut, they couldn't do lunch! So there we were 5 people, 1 dog looking for lunch. Not easy on a sunny sunday afternoon.... More

As parents with a 7 month old baby, we wanted to celebrate New Years Eve gently and the Keepers Arms provided us with the perfect evening. The pub itself is a beautiful building, full of history and tastefully refurbished; cosy corners, a squishy sofa, open fire, wooden floors and a seperate small dining area. Our food was delicious. My starter... More

I want to like this pub because it is in a beautiful setting. However, £4.85 for a pint is absurdly expensive and probably explains why this lovely pub is usually empty.

My husband and I visited the Keepers last month on our way to Portsmouth. It was lovely sunny day so we sat outside on the terrace. The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced and we had the house white which was a lovely chilled Sauvignon Blanc. I had the most delicious rack of lamb and my husband had Sea Bass,we couldn't... More

Just returned from a lovely meal at the Keepers Arms. Unlike other lucky reviewers we had traditional English weather...it's cold, windy, rainy and grim! But inside The Keepers just as good as the patio so do come here on less sunny days too. Beautifully decorated inside ( we had table in the snug...perfect) and excellent food and presentation. 3 course... More

My husband and I ate here when we were on a Sunday drive and it was delicious. Friendly staff, gluten-free friendly (important for me), lovely patio on a sunny day, and seemed like a great stop for walkers along the south downs. I had the grilled chicken and hubby had the duck. Yum!

I love the fact you can sit on a battered sofa next to a roaring fire, and know you are going to eat something nice here. However, when I went last year, for a (very nice) cheese plate with a bit of salad, and a nice glass of Rioja, the cost was nigh on 20 quid! Unjustifiable I am afraid
