We had a lovely meal here and even with our limited French managed to order jambon serrano as a starter, salmon with roasted vegetables and chicken risotto for our main and creme brulee for desert. Had a lovely bottle of rose wine and all for less than €70. The menu is on the board make sure you decide before sitting... More

We were in Melun for a music festival over the weekend. We set out looking for something to eat and happened upon this place. We ate outside; the staff was exceptionally nice and the food was wonderful and fairly priced. We would definitely return.

We sat down to look at the menu. It was early evening, with hardly any other customers about. We stopped to look at the menu, then realised that our 7 year old son was not feeling well so we had to get up to leave the restaurant. A moment later we were stopped by the owner who said to us... More

The most delicious meal we had this vacation was in this small restaurant decorated like a cave. The staff does not speak much English but were not upset with our badly phrased French when we ordered dinner. Two dinners, an appetizer and a very good bottle of Gigondas wine cost about $100.

We ate well but there was no wow factor. The tastes were a little muted. The service was efficient. On the whole quite expensive for what was served, but the wine bar ambience is very pleasant.

The host at our B&B in Melun recommended Le Grapillon, and we were glad that we followed her recommendation. We sat outside in a small, pedestrian only, side street, and the atmosphere was perfect. The food was very good, with several dishes taking advantage of the local brie. Service was friendly and we felt welcome, even with out limited french... More

The food here is traditional french cuisine........went with my brother and girlfriend for lunch. The wait staff are friendly as is the owner. Great atmosphere....check out the lower level. A good wine list either by the bottle or glass. I would recommend this place for a nice lunch.

I have gone to this place several times in the last 3-4 years. The menu does not change much but it is nicely varied and (as is the fashion these days) appeals to more modern tastes. Even so, fans of French "traditional" cooking would not be disappointed here. Good wine list, also available by the glass, and waiters are knowledgeable... More
