Our second visit here after a number of years. Despite its reputation we were thoroughly underwhelmed. Decor is minimalist and the resin based chairs most uncomfortable. Service was haphazard and the food was certainly not two Michelin star quality. The asparagus was inedible- it would not cut with a knife let alone the teeth! Two waiters for two floors is... More

Many people have already commented on the unusual location of the restaurant. We may just need reminding that it is 40 years ago a modest house was changed into this restaurant and the decathlon across the road was years still from being built. People have left negative comments regarding the frontage of the restaurant. I may be in the monitory... More

We really enjoyed the creativity of the cuisine at L'Amphytrion a few weeks ago. we selected one of the largest menus to have a vast experience (don't worry about the quantity. All courses are small enough). We really liked the fish (Saint-Pierre fillet) and the pork (from Spain, absolutely amazing). The various emulsions were original and good, but less spectacular... Everything we had was extraordinary. The location is not very glamorous but it provides for very easy parking. Also once your are inside the decor is beautiful and the food lets your mind travel. The only slight disappointment was with the desserts, there were two and both were mousse based and lacked a variety of texture. Then again the flavors... More

My biggest complaint is that I think we rarely had more than 45 seconds between courses. I have never felt under quite so much pressure to get through my food and considering how pricey it is, I expect to be allowed to enjoy my food and the company at a more leisurely rate. The food was fussy and complicated. French... More

Great service, modern minimalist decor, and amazing modern cuisine highlighting the seafood. Probably a bit out of the way for most tourists but worth the drive. This place compares favourably to many 3* places we ate at in Paris, at half the price
