This is a very atmospheric restaurant in a courtyard in the centre of the medieval city in Sarlat. A choice of three fixed price menus (starting from €18) plus a la carte. Not a lot different from a number of other nearby restuarants insofar as choice of main courses is concerned (duck, chicken, some steak, a couple of fish dishes... More

We ate here on an October lunchtime. The restaurant was busy, the food comforting and tasty, prices good and service friendly. Sure there is finer dining but they speak lots of languages and are very helpful. A nice lunch - I would go again.

Sarlat has a huge nuber of restaurants along its many streets, alleys and byways. Almost all offer a value-priced menu anywhere from 12.8 € and up most of the offerings are tourist oriented, offeringnthe obligatory foie gras as an appy. with some type of duck entree, and dessert for one price. Our first clue that this place was good was... More

This restaurant has many routes and looks very picturesque and very popular so you need to get there early or lunch. The menu options were good and we chose the €15 option which was really enjoyable. My husband opted for the beef which unfortunately was not very tender and almost inedible (in his opinion). The waiter was extremely apologetic and... More

The set menus offered at Les Chevaliers are a fantastic way to sample the traditional dishes of the region in an atmospheric setting. We visited the restaurant on a summer evening and asked to sit up on the stone balcony which was beautiful. The restaurant is set in a little old square which is warmly lit at night - very... More

Had a good meal with family and friends. Sat outside - perfect location. Had set menu's and everyone was pleased with their choices. Choices for kids are a little limited, but mine are of the age where the kids menu just won't do but while they are quite adventurous for their age, you do have to be careful to ensure... More

Staying in the Peigord Noir region isnt the same without an evening visit to Sarlat. I have eaten in many of the restaurants within the medieval walls of the city but if you are looking for a reasonably priced three course dinner then try the Foie gras et boeuf Charolais at the Les Chevaliers. I ate there on the 12th... More

What a gem! In a city of fabulous places this stands out! The staff are friendly and welcoming - with the menu available in several languages. The food was delicious. We had wanted to eat outside but didn't want to be on the street - this restaurant offers a courtyard and a balcony!
