Visited here after a walk of Caw on Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed my time there. A cosy place and chatted to the barman by the fire throughout about walks as there was nobody else in at that time. Would highly recommend the Newfields Burger...that was excellent. A great venue.More

Great authentic country pub serving a wide range of beers and excellent food. The roast dinners are especially good! Very dog friendly. A must visit if in the area.

We had a meal here on Christmas Eve. Food outstanding but very little atmosphere in the pub. Needed some Christmas music and a few more people.

Enjoyed a nice dinner with friends while staying at a local cottage. Beer and food selection were good and everything was tasty!

Dropped in here for lunch when walking from Boot to Broughton on the Inn Way - it was actually my second visit although I realise now that there is another TA listing for the same place. Very good beers, very good lunch and friendly service...all made for a pleasant stop.More

While staying overnight locally I had a really pleasant evening in this traditional pub in the village.

We've spent four nights staying nearby to the pub and had two fantastic meals here, its a very remote location, but there is a warm welcome ready for you! We had two different meals, first night Sausage, Beans and Mash for the Little Man, and...Fish and Chips and Steak for the adults, all excellent and well received. Second visit, Fish Goujons and fries and beans for the Little Man, and Fish and Chips and Burger for the Adults, again very good... Lovely welcome from the team, its a remote spot and the food is fresh so you've to be prepared to wait (just the right amount of time in my opinion), the location if your staying in the Dudden Valley or at the nearby campsite is really easy to walk to and from. The fire last night after a damp day was a welcome site... The Ale is excellent and they've got awards for the there selection of ales (its a free house) the bar lady is happy to let you try before you buy.. All in all,cant fault this lovely pub. Well done FYI - Open all day for food and drinks (according to sign), accept card payments and dogs, outside area, kids play area as well, local events as well.More
