The orecchiette in this restaurant were probably the best pasta I ever had! We were here for lunch and the staff was efficient and friendly and the pasta and meat were both delicious. With about 10€ for pasta and around 15€ for fish or meat, the prices are reasonable for this great quality. By the way, the dishes are huge.

It's not pretending to be a Gourmand Temple. Neither the location nor the manager nor the chef would do. It's just a Hostaria where you get fish at it's best for a decent price. And yeah: If you like fish, you will love Dam a Traa! Because they know about fish and how to prepare the fish. It's not so... More

Beautiful, quiet but atmospheric spot by lago maggiore in Suna. Arrived whilst sun starting to set and watched the light, sky and lake all change while it did. 3 of us had pasta, two had tagliatelle venison ragu & one had paccheri octopus. All delicious though ragu slightly in salty side. House rosato light, refreshing & tasty. Service good.

Stopped off here after very, very long walk so we were starving - but my saffron pasta with tiger prawns was delicious and the best pasta dish I had by a long way. Speedy (not massively cheerful but efficient) staff and great location by the edge of the Lake.

We live in Verbania and are quite used to dine to this restaurant. Personnel is easygoing (maybe the owner is sometimes kind of rude and too hasty) and friendly, maybe too friendly every now and then. One of the waiters is actually the quickest, fastest man I've ever seeing serving. Quite stunning. Food is fairly good, altough maybe heavy (I... More

Been there in a busy sunday lunch. The place was packed and the service was a bit slow, but the portions of the dish were really generous and the food was really tasty!

Simple home cooked Italian food with fresh local produce together with large portions makes this place very good value for money. Make sure you come to this place with a good appetite as you will find it difficult to finish some dishes from the menu. Staff are very skilled and efficient at serving their customers and making them feel at... More

Well, the restaurant was recommended by Daniela who hosted us in her wonderful home atop of a hill called "La Foresteria" di Villa Esperia. She said the name means "give me lots" if I remember well. "Dam a" is the equivalent of "donne-moi" in French and "dame..." in Spanish, which means "give me...". Daniela mentioned that it would be impossible... More

Ordered gnochi with cheese sauce, which was very very cheesy and salty. Also had the octopus pasta, which was good. Good portion size. Very popular, so perhaps we ordered the wrong thing.
