Lovely food in a cosy and friendly restaurant

I ate in here with another 3 friends on a ski trip and one of my friends had done the research and I was glad he had and booked us in before we came. Food was exquisite, I had Veals cheek and we all had something different and enjoyed it. Wine was excellent and the staff was lovely. Highly recommend this restaurant, we will be back! 😀

From the moment you see the front door, up a stunning, cobbled Sauze side street, you know you are going to have a fabulous experience. On entering, it has the most magical ambience; it is simply divine. Our table (for two) was opposite the open fire and whilst we had concerns it might be too warm, they were unfounded: it was perfect. In fact perfect summed up the night; we chose the word 'sublime' for the food - who could believe that veal and tuna would be such fabulous companions? We really LOVED this restaurant - go there if you get the chance!

Cosy Piedmontese food

Very good food- one of our favourite meals in Sauze. Particularly highlights were the ham hocks and the duck confit. The pudding of apple and pear sorbet with calvados was also a brilliant combo and fantastic end to the meal. Very cosy setting too.

So disappointed

The waitress was so nice and worked hard, but the food was really poor. Our duck starter was just a full plate of dry flavourless meat and the artichoke was not very nice at all, the gnocchi was excellent, the main courses were not nice and we left almost all of them as it just was so unpleasant. We didn’t even bother with dessert.

Disappointed

Having last visited in March 2020 we were really looking forward to dining here again. We couldn’t have been more disappointed. I only had a main course of duck leg which was completely dry with uncooked potatoes. A friend had the pork shank which was overcooked and lost all its potential. So disappointing!!

Just simply wonderful, first class cuisine food with family run care and service. Recommend if you enjoy fine dining with excellent friendly staff and owners. The best meal we had on our stay in Sauze. Highly Recommend.

Nice fine dining restaurant

The restaurant is a bit hidden, you have to knock on the door for them to open it. This gives another dimension to the visit. The menu does not have the easiest dishes. They positively surprised me!

Fabulous restaurant

I had to choose a more recent date, but we ate here Christmas 2017 and it still stands out as one of the best meals. It was a last minute decision - we were lucky to find a table and the menu did not disappoint!

Gloriously quaint family run restaurant close to town square but also tucked away. Dine in style in the cellar room. Our group had the pork- large portions! We also had the duck and veal. All very tasty, washed down with a Barolo or two! Strongly recommend this place!

Always at his best!

Been here many times and never left disappointed, the quality of the food, the always perfect wine match they find for you, the coziness of the ambiance, the freshly baked bread and the homemade biscuits to finish with...simply perfect! Can't wait to be back again next year!!
