I had a great experience at Rifugio Muzzerone. For 20 euro for the meal, the food just keeps coming (3 or 4 courses) and includes fresh fish, antipasto, dessert and pasta. The views are true to the pictures. However, be warned there is a 20-30 min hike to get there... If you can handle the steep and rocky path from... More

Nice view but this is the only good point ! Freezing shower, frosty reception, bad breakfast (4 rusk, a coffee and bad jam box). For the dinner, the cooker was nice and the food correct. So it's really expensive and there is not really a good service... We payed 40€/person... for a refuge it's expensive...

If you can struggle up the steps and path and the climb for 30 minutes (pass to the right of the public toilets in Porto Venere Square at the start) follow the red and white footpath markers you have a real treat. The views are wonderful and the food rustic and tasty. Plenty of shade under the awnings. If you... More

I went there with my girlfriend and it took a little bit of time to find this place, the parking is on the top of the hill behind portovenere (you need to get out of the village). Then you need to walk 10min in the jungle to get to this rustic refuge but it was so much worth it. You... More

I have no idea how this place got such good reviews here and in airbnb. The place is terrible, the FREEZING shower is disgusting, rooms are dirty and smely, there are lots of mosquitoes, the breakfast is a joke and the owner is rude. Seriously, the ONLY - and I mean ONLY - good thing is the view!!!

Don't get me wrong. It is quite a hike to get up here. But if you make it you will be treated to one of the most magical meals of your life. With the fireflies at night, and amazing panoramic views of the sea you couldn't wish for anything better. Also the food is AMAZING!! Every night is a treat... More

The place is wonderful, with a view you will hardly forget. The host can tell you everything you may dream to know about the plants, the animals, the geology and the hikes of the place, and much more than this. Last, but not at all least, the host will make for you typical recepes of La Spezia in a excellent... More

I can imagine why a few people complained. It is not easy to get to... you have to walk a trail in the woods for about 10 minutes.... but I think this is good at weeding out those who are not serious about finding a beautiful place. The view is breathtaking, Ettore is an easy going and kind host and,... More

Rifugio Muzzerone is a MUST if you want to enjoy a quiet meal in the open, surrounded by the most beautiful nature and views, looking onto Porto Venere and the Gulf of La Spezia. Whenever I have guests from overseas I take them there and when I myself want to escape from the crowds in Porto Venere I treat myself... More
