Delicious food, great service, beautiful setting, view of the bay, extensive wine list. We had an amazing dinner experience with friends.

We had lunch here. I had ribolletti soup, quite tasty. My son and husband had pasta dishes and said they were good. Nice white wine. We did not stay here but the resort looks beautiful. Views of the sea are amazing. Very pricey meal.

Everything about our meal was exceptional beginning with the spectacular setting looking out on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Our meal began with an amazing amuse bouche with a perfect combination of flavors and textures. For our primi we enjoyed one of the best expressions of Ribollita I have ever tasted - hearty and rustic - artfully presented with a golden toasted... More

The setting is wonderful and the service perfect. And the food great. I see recent other reviews were less favourable but I cannot agree - we thought it was brilliant. Of course you pay for all the environment and highly trained staff and the least good value was the non alcoholic beer retailing at around one euro and charged at... More

Tonight we ate at the grill at Pellicano. I had the caprese salad to start-- delicious and really best to be split. I was explicitly told the pasta special was with porcini mushrooms and no sauce, only a little garlic. Sadly, it was served in very little light, I tasted it and it was disgusting. It turns out it had... More

Beautiful hotel with Michelin starred restaurant and grill. We booked and ate in the grill. A bit out of Porto Ercole on Monte Argentario, this hotel has a magnificent setting nestled in a cliff with a view of south west Italian coast. Grill is above pool and on a level lower than main restaurant. Excellent food in a casual setting.... More

Nice location, but the food was not good at all. We had a mini table at the Pelligrill and had a Rombo fish that was truly grilled to death. It tasted totally burned. The starter, deep fried scampi and octopus for 45,00 €, was not even worth to be mentioned. The wines are totally overpriced. I had great expectations but... More

I have been going to Monte Argentario and surroundings since I was a little boy; Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano, Cala Piccola, Saturnia, Pitigliano... Il Pellicano has always been synonymous of understated luxury, good taste and strictly non-ostentatious sybaritism. Also this year, as I tend to do quite regularly, I visited the Pellicano's gourmet restaurant (a grill restaurant is also... More

Go here if you want a lovely atmosphere, reasonable but slow service, and emphasis on presentation over taste. Most dishes lack a certain je ne sais quoi. The desserts are all trying to be too clever, and miss the mark. The flavours don't balance, there is no magic in the mouth. There is way too much emphasis on the presentation,... More

After spending nearly 20 years summering in the South of France and on Capri I've finally made the switch to something new. Or rather something old & old world. Il Pellicano is very different and in a fabulous way! Whereas the French Riviera and Capri are mostly full of US east coasters looking to people watch, network and shopshopshop, this... More

Description
In this elegant five-star hotel in Tuscany, today part of The Leading Hotels of the World, Chef Sebastiano Lombardi's cuisine is always a lovely surprise, thrilling and satisfying all five senses. The Michelin-star restaurant dining room is a large veranda overlooking the sea, opening onto the terrace facing the garden. The walls are decorated with wallpaper reproducing a drawing by Piero Fornasetti, and original 1960s appliques created by Italian craftsmen.
In the two-Michelin star restaurant, in Porto Ercole on the Argentario coast, the lamps are made of bird cages, and the large windows frame the moonlight reflecting off the sea. The kitchen uses only seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, plus the day's catch and organic meat from carefully selected local producers. Under the skilled touch of our Michelin-starred chef, food becomes a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Guests with a sweet tooth will be thrilled by the parade of desserts and the Tuscan dessert cart, plus a selection of the finest chocolates. At Il Pellicano, the day always starts off right, with the fragrance of freshly-baked cakes and breads, freshly-perked coffee, jams, yogurt, fresh fruit and vegetable juices, cheeses from local dairies, and organic eggs.
