I'd read reviews of Trattoria dell'Orso and so managed to locate it down a side street for lunch on our day trip to Orvieto. We had some excellent soup and pasta. The service was good and we'd recommend it for a quiet place for lunch.

While spending a couple of days in Orvieto, we ate at three restaurants or trattorie, and each was fantastic. However, I’d have to say that the fixed price meal at the Trattoria dell’Orso blew away all the rest. Recommended by Rick Steves, we bought a full dinner for 30 euro per couple, which includes wine and all courses, everything except... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this small restaurant in which the very nice owner is the server. We chose the tasting menu for 30 euros. This included a decanter of wine and 4 courses. After asking if we had allergies or dislikes, the owner brought Orvieto wine followed by a delicious truffle soup, then a pasta dish with olives,... More

We spent January 2nd in Orvieto on a day trip from Rome. While my family did the underground tour I went exploring and luckily turned down a tiny street in which this gem if a restaurant was located. The menu looked great and the prices were good so we decided to give it a go. We had a group of... More

Trattoria dell'Orso is a cozy friendly little restaurant that appeared to be filled with local folks. Super friendly staff who treated us very well. We did not order the special pre-fix type tourist meal. Instead opted some of the other specials. We tried the anchovy appetizer, truffle pasta, the guinea fowl and the pigeon. All were exceptional.

I think we were the only folks in the place that didn't speak Italian. It seems to be family run with attention to detail. The service was good and the food was great.

First, the food: Order literally anything and it'll be delicious. Despite all the other restaurants on offer here, we ended up having lunch here three times in the five days we stayed there. The rabbit was a highlight, as was their pork shank, as were their pasta dishes. Secondly, the service: We had a baby that required bottles to be... More
