The two rissotto starters with porcini and shrimps were beatiful in taste, the suggested Negroamaro red to kiss. the main beef with mushroomsauce tasteful, but the seafood grill was a disappointment, as the swordfish and the octopus were grilled in such a way it dried...out and was hard to chew. Eventhough we heard it’s normal in Puglia the grilled seafood can be a bit tough, we also had grilled seafood experiences elsewhere with much softer taste results. The service was polite, but reserved, a bit on the automatic pilot, the place in general lacked atmosphere.More

We arrived without a reservation (early) and were welcomed and made to feel at home. The food was delicious the service was great and the prosecco lemon sorbet was sublime. Definitely recommended.

We came early without reservation . We were the first to come and for the binging service was good. We ask for risotto and mixed grill of see food. Risotto was very good but the see go was real bad. The fish had a taste...of gasoline. We asked them to see what is the problem and we didn’t even got an answer. If you don’t have to find another place which respect there guestsMore

A lovely dinner last night in the charming fine-dine Ristorante Gambero Rosso. We were welcomed with a complimentary glass of Prosecco each which came with the excellent bread. Of the 3 great Puglian wines, we hadn't yet been able to taste the Susumaniello, so I...was very pleased to see it on the menu (most restaurants feature only Primitivo and Negroamaro on their wine lists) and promptly asked for it. The courteous Sommelier brought 3 bottles to the table and described them without trying to upsell me. I chose the Pietra Menhir, which was sublime! We shared a delicious Seafood Risotto, generous with prawns, squid, clams and mussels that had been de-shelled for us at my husband's special request. And a fresh and crisp Insalata Mista. The bill came to a very reasonable €40. Will book and go again for sure.More

You know when you walk in and feel your shoulders drop that you are going to have a fine dining experience. The ambiance, the attention to detail and attentive table service all add to the sensational meal. Recommend the seaford starters, fresh tuna with orange...rind,just to get the taste buds going. The grilled seafood platter is amazing.More

we visited on a Saturday night and were lucky to get a table - need a reservation and full of locals, many looked like it was a special occasion to be there. Shared a mixed seafood starter which was amazing and a meal in itself....I had swordfish and partner had seafood for a main - both very well cooked. Great service from our waitress. Very good value for the quality of the meal, the service and setting - would highly recommend.More

Loved this elegant seafood restaurant and their al fresco dining garden out back. Excellent service from attentive and helpful staff. Would recommend the antipasto seafood tasting of 8 different items (see photo).

We had doubts about the atmosphere when we saw the entry but when we moved to the garden, we were really suprised... A table under the trees, great food and drink and very good service, Worth going...

The restuarant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so we booked a table for Tuesday We were seated in the fairy lit gardens at the rear of the restaurant and the whole atmosphere was charming, we cannot understand the review that complained about the wobbly...table, I am sure it was soon corrected. We chose the mixed seafood platter to start and were not disappointed. The wine was good especially as our taste is for a very dry white and we always try to drink the local wines. The main course was also good and altogether a good place to choose if you want to eat seafood.More

I had read good reviews of this restaurant and made a reservation for a table for our first night in Lecce. On arrival, we were shown to a table at the back of the garden and immediately had to stabilise the wobbly table (more about...that later). We were given a complimentary drink and ordered our food which was 2 main courses, a side dish and a bottle of wine. The wine was delicious and when the 2 main dishes arrived, we reminded the waitress that we had also ordered a side dish of potatoes. She nodded and we expected them to arrive shortly. Fifteen minute later, as I tried to hold back from eating my risotto and my partner waited for her side dish to accompany her fillet steak, we asked another waiter about the potatoes. He went off and after another 5-10 minutes, they arrived. By then, obviously the steak was cold so she just picked at the dish and left it at that. So not only had the food been totally compromised, it highlighted the fact that the steak itself was quite bland and poorly executed. We ordered an after-dinner drink and asked for the bill. But I was really surprised that not only had they included the forgotten side dish, they didn't even think of giving us the digestif on the house. When I queried it with the manager when paying the bill, he agreed to deduct the side dish but charged for everything else and didn't offer any apology or explanation. Back to the table itself. When we arrived, the table was so unstable that I had to prop it up with pebbles. The table next to us had the same problem and while we were there, 3 separate couples sat down but each time, they left the table when they couldn't get it to stop moving. How an established restaurant can have such dysfunctional tables is maybe a reflection of the lack of care and attention to detail that I think best describes this place. The fact that the management were so utterly disinterested in dealing with their shortcomings was what disappointed and annoyed me more than anything else. This is one restaurant to avoid if I was you - and I hope that we find somewhere better for tomorrow night...More
