We asked for spritz aperols at the terrace of Caffè Alvino. While serving, the waiter dropped a whole spritz all over our clothes placed on a chair. It's ok to have an accident, however the manager not only didn't offer cleaning wipes or something for...the stains (imagine all the orange stains in our clothes) but after we finished he did charge us both cocktails. We expected that, at least, they wouldn't charge us one of the cocktails.More

The location during an apero is key. And this location is great to enjoy your morning or afternoon espresso or your afternoon sundowner. Nice location, good and friendly service, reasonable prices. Good.

Very poor service , expensive for what it was and the service people had a bad attitude towards customers , great location and I guess that is what works for them ….

Alright, yes, anything with the name "Alvino" in it must be the second coming of the Savior to those "influencers' who don't go outside of Piazza St. Oronzo. Fair enough, I get it. This means I won't expound on how just about every facet of...this room stay was botched, bungled or met with indifference. I won't do that here. Look, the Alvino Suites, and Cafe Alvino are good, renowned, and packed to the gills from morning to night. Perhaps that's the problem. These places are worn out and behind on their maintenance. I came at the end of tourism season and the cafe staff was grouchy and argued with me for presenting an Alvino Suites coupon--even after I offered to pay cash instead! The truth is, the entire Alvino agglomerate can now be picked up and splatted down in any tourist center in the world. It's that homogenous atmosphere you find in Bali, Kathmandu, Cabo, or anywhere tourists move like cows. But really, so what? The Alvino could be staffed from here on out with oozing zombies and they'd still be full from morning to night, and they know it. If you want the best seat in town for the tourist scene in Piazza St. Oronzo, anything "Alvino" is your place. If you want better everything, walk a block in any direction.More

Sadly agree with previous reviews. Bad service, waiter could not wear a mask properly, dirty toilets. Not recommended

Very dirty place, cups, paper towels, papers everywhere on the ground and everywhere on tables too. Service totally disorganized.

We tried the Pasticciotto in many pastries around Salento. But the one from Alvino is the best one! Believe me I'm Italian! Other dessert and ice cream and cakes seems very good but we haven't tries yet.

I went in for both the pastries and later for ice cream. Both (all) were really good and I enjoyed everything. I had typical Leccese pastries and these were one of the best I had during my trip. However, the staff is not good. Almost...uninterested and ready to get it over with. Based on the other reviews, I wouldn't sit at a table. But if you are just going to get something, it's a good place to stop.More

Really bad service. Waited 35 minutes to be served. Two other tables next to us decided to leave so I went up to the bar to order instead but because they need the service charge they sent a waiter to our table to take our...order but he never returned. We decided to complain however the staff weren’t really apologetic and said they would take the order again. It would’ve been quicker if they just allowed us to take the drinks to the table and fire the useless waiter. We left and went to a better bar round the corner and got served instantly.More
