Ordered a typical italian lasagne bolognese and a maccheroni pie. Pie was very dry and the lasagne was microwaved! The dessert was on display already and it was literally put in the microwave at the counter and brought over to us. Place looks appealing but...it lacks a great deal of passion for cooking. Shame.More

There for dinner. I was early but the place started to fill up shortly after. Nice balanced menu. House wine was quite good. Service was good and helpful. They serve food in the cooking pans. That makes it easy if you want to share dishes...with someone else. I enjoyed my Oso Bucco. Visited in Jan. 20.More

I returned to Ferrara after 12 years. A friend of mine brought me here. Wide selection of prosciutto, salami, and topical cheeses, with a lively piadina and bread. Plus we had tortellini with zucca, with butter and with red raga. Very delicious. And a liter...of home wine. We paid 57 euro in total. Recommended to everybodyMore

I was there with my dad and is girlfriend, the gentleman at the front was absolutely amazing, so funny and very professional is name is Edo, we had the menu with the white truffle and I never tried something like that, the food was extremely...outstanding, and the service too. So if you go to Ferrara, Cusina e Butega is definitely the place to be. Thank you very muchMore

Another wonderful restaurant in Ferrara with incredible Italian delights. Though the main courses don't come with anything else so be prepared to ask!

it's always a pleasure to come back to Cusina e butega (cooking and shop) with an excellent selection of cold cuts (salumi) and pinzini (fried salted pastry) , very good starters and typical flavors from the region, like the famous "salama", and good wines too....The service is good and efficient. Many families with kids come here because upstairs there is a 'children recreation area" , a very good entertainment for our little ones!!More

Miss Marple, would she go there, might feel the same as when she was a guest at a certain hotel. It seems too good to be true. It may be the assessment of dishes prepared in advance, and not sent to the freezer. And the...appreciation of waiters who do wait on you with their best available smile and take pleasure in helping you dishes they approve of themselves. I must say that I had perfect pasta and a veal roast that defies time and fashion. This once upon a time in a modern, clean, well lit atmosphere where you start thinking that everyone around is beautiful or pleasant and good company. I will not leave dear Ferrara without returning there. Will future guests contribute to enhance this restaurant. I do hope they will share my gratitude.More

We had a very nice meal here on recommendation from our Hotel. The restaurant is open plan and very buzzy with a great atmosphere. We had the most delicious seafood Risotto for 2 to share, we tried the Fried stuffed courgette flowers to start but...I was disappointed as the batter was very thick and spoilt the filling. All in all a very nice meal in a good setting with good service.More

Mind you, there is a strong possibility that you will be one of the only Americans in this restaurant. But it will be worth it. This is an authentic experience. The staff will try to translate for you, but you should basically get cappelacci. That’s...the local dish and it is the best thing you will ever have in your life. We paired it with a Lambrusco sparkling red wine and it was amazing. You will be eating among locals and other Italians. You will really get a chance to see what it’s like to live here. Just keep in mind that this is not a tourist trap. Don’t go in and act like an entitled American. You are representing our entire culture here. Try to speak Italian, be polite, STFU and enjoy what will be one of the most real international experiences of your life.More

We were all VERY impressed by the Cusina e Butega. Great Atmosphere, very popular with "younger locals". Friendly helpful staff. Being surrounded by wonderful hams and other produce for sale really adds to the ambience. Highly recommended.
