Great place to enjoy your mid-morning cappuccino and yummy croissant, while taking in the view of the spectacular cathedral facade (though no view of it at present, as major renovation work is taking place on the masonry and sculpture). It's a prime spot here, right in the centre of the old town, so a great place for people-watching, as locals... More

Very interesting combination of Italian and nouvelle cuisine. Good quality and varied choice. If you order an alcoholic drink, you are presented with an enormous plate of free snacks before you even order your food. Then a good quality choice on the menu. Triangulo, which was delicious triangle shaped pasta with aubergine filling, was something I had never tasted before... More

Good for snacks and coffee, but not quick. Friendly staff run off their feet a bit. Fantastic view of cathedral.

We walked through the the large castle in the centre of Ferrara and turned right (shops). The walk through the small, back streets (picking up a few of the interesting university buildings) was hot, tiring but well worth while ..... we ended up at Leon D'oro. A lovely setting in the corner of the piazza with excellent service and food.

Delicious place, with an awesome selection of desserts, pastries, cakes and really good espresso! Service is really good and the location unbeatable!

All the pastries we tried at this lovely traditional pasticceria were fresh & delicious & the Illy coffee they serve was made to perfection every time. They even have tiny bowls of chocolate drops on the marble counter for customers to help themselves!!

Well, all I can say is you have to try it to understand what it means to eat desserts in Italy. Have breakfast there by choosing a few pastries accompanied by a cappuccino. I guarantee you will feel really good!

Location is fantastic, very convenient. Food is ok but nothing amazing. Service is poor depending on who is serving you. There are a couple of great wait staff, but otherwise they are inattentive. Would not recommend if you are looking for a traditional Ferrarese restaurant.

Sat down at 7.55pm, table was dirty (glasses and plates from previous customers) 10 minutes later, table still a mess, no one showed up to clean (in spite of me making it clear I had just sat down). Had to stop someone to get it cleaned. Order comes at 8.15pm, as well as check. I put the money on the... More
