We enjoyed a few dinners on wet evenings while camping at nearby Palace Farm. The staff, locals and their dogs were friendly and welcoming. The food was homemade, good quality and nicely presented. Would recommend !

Don't bother trying to get a drink here always closed tried three times last week shut early on a Sunday do they not know people like a drink on a summer evenings

We went to a tarot reading evening, really surprised ourselves by how good it was, can't wait for another one. And going back to a wine and cheese event this month, staff and food 5*.

The service was amazing. so friendly. they could not be more helpful . I would highly recommend the chequers to anybody looking for an excellent meal and friendly atmosphere.

Loved the historical vibe of the pub and the food was delicious. Sat in the Peaceful back garden and soaked up the sunshine. Would definitely visit again soon

Description
A listed coaching inn set in the heart of the Kent countryside. The Chequers oozes history and charm with its oak timbers, mullion windows and inglenook fireplace. A fine selection of real ales and wines. The home cooked food is excellent, locally sourced and good value for money. There is a large outside seating area, with a family garden to the rear. The Chequers has recently been refurbished and we look forward to welcoming you. Open: Monday 5-11. (No food) Tue-fri 12-3 5-11(Food 12-2.30 and 6-9) Saturday 12-11 (Food until 9) Sunday. 12-8 (Food until 6)
