Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great coffee, good value for my family of 5. Croissants are huge and fresh. Friendly service. Quick service. Highly recommend for coffee and a snack. Takeaway or a few tables and chairs available inside or outside. Across the road from Quest. Pt Adelaide has changed...and is a little surprise, lots to see and do for anyone. Check out Swedish Tarts if your in the Port!!!More

As a local resident, I have noticed this cafe is often well patronised so I though I would give it a try. What a disappointment. First, I was greeted by a very surly young lady who simply demanded/said, in a gruff, unsmiling voice "Takeaway or...dine in"? So, I simply said "good morning", smiled and answered her question and ordered a coffee. Coffee arrived and I settled down with it and to browse the local newspaper - impossible! Loud, 'head-banging' music (this was mid-morning) so I moved outside to a streetside table. Coffee was tepid at best so I gave up, left the cafe - and will not go back until, at least, staff can be more welcoming!More

Great little place! Serves good coffee... With an overwhelming choice of their namesake (Swedish Tarts) I eventually settled with an apple and cinnamon one & was not disappointed! Delicious! Whilst my companion had a ham, cheese & tomato croissant. On the whole a little more...on the pricey side for what you get.More

My wife and I came here to have lunch for the first time and the food and service was magnificent. The meal was Smashed Avo plus Haloumi. In addition, the coffee created by Conor was excellent. We shall return.

Excellent coffee. Opens early. Competitors shut. Sat out the front with a paper and coffee. Happily return.

Had two chocolate croissants - very tasty and large but expensive. Went in and had to wait around while the staff set out tables and chairs outside - AFTER their opening hours of 7am - making no effort to serve us or even acknowledge that...we were waiting. I noticed this the last time I came - staff is a bit stuck up.More

Had read about these bakeries somewhere and as we were in Semaphore and needed to pick up a small snack for quick dessert we dropped by to grab some of their individual tarts. Each $4.50 and I think they are probably worth that. It’s nice...that they look a little irregular and slightly rough around the edges....home made and not mass produced. The flavours tried were all good but the lemon poppy cheese one was really exceptional! Others were Walnut espresso, White chocolate and dark chocolate. Although we dropped by around 1230pm only about one third (or less) of the flavours remained available. The shelf was almost bare! There were so many others that sounded good and it was unfortunate we couldn’t try some of the more interesting flavours. Next time! Only comment is that the counter ordering seemed a bit dishevelled but the guy serving was very pleasant so forgiven!More

I see it is five years since we were here, but then we do not visit Semaphore very often. My wife and I are here for coffee and cake, and we remember this place from our earlier visit. Street parking is available and fairly easy...to find, and access to the café is straightforward. The café furnishing could be described as casual – perhaps the result of several visits to the local op shop?! – but the place has a pleasant friendly ambience. I notice once more the interesting light shades, and the walls are colourfully covered. We place our order at the counter: there is a good range of interesting tarts (are they Swedish?). Our order is then brought to our table by the friendly waitress. We particularly enjoy our almond tart, and the drinks are fine too. My wife's tea is served with a small pot on an attractive tray setting. This is a pleasant place to visit for an afternoon tea or coffee.More

Stopped by because it was busy - always a good sign. Mocha was lovely, we also had a special of a meatlovers flatbread which was nice. Did not have any of their tarts, though they looked delicious and there was a large range. Quaint venue...too.More

I don't live in the area but when I'm in Semaphore, I love to stop in here for Breakfast. The Buddha Bowls are my favourite and the staff are always friendly and very accommodating with additions to meals & coffees. Recently (Jan 2020) I booked...a group and we all had a nice and inviting experience. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to my next visit at Sweedish Tarts Semaphore.More

I made it down for a late breakfast at Swedish Tarts at Semaphore this morning. I do stop in here for coffee from time to time, which I’ve always enjoyed. I was greeted at the counter this morning by a very friendly staff member who...took my order straight away. I ordered a “Smashed Avo”, to which I added Halloumi. I decided to skip the coffee today (as it was a 40°c summers day), and opted for an Apple Juice instead. The bill came to $30.50, which seemed a bit rich at the time. I was given my number and I sat at a little table by the window. My Apple juice came out straight away. I was expecting a bottle of Apple juice , but was pleasantly surprised to receive a large glass, that was freshly juiced in-house. My food came out shortly after, to which I was far less impressed with. In all fairness to the kitchen, the food was presented very well, and it was clearly obvious the level of pride they put into their work. The flavours in this dish were really nice and well balanced & the (1) poached egg that came with the dish was cooked correctly. My main beef with the this mornings experience was the serving size vs. my $30.50 bill. Although the actual Smashed Avocado was delicious, it was barely enough for the 2x pieces of toast that came with the dish. Also, 2x pieces of toast should equal 2x Poached eggs (not 1), surely.. The extra Halloumi I purchased was nice enough, but probably not worth the $5.00 I had to pay for it. As a whole, I feel I really didn’t receive value for money at Swedish Tarts this morning. I left there unsatisfied, still hungry, and $30.50 out of pocket. I’m starting to notice a similar trend of dissatisfaction with these franchise cafe chains. Maybe there’s a lesson there..More
