Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you have ever wondered why Britain needed the craft ale revolution when they already had a thriving real ale culture... this is the place for you. Locally brewed real ales minus the over priced, daft names and oh so cool cans. This is a place to drink Ale. Delicious marvelous ale. It also should be mentioned the staff are great the prices reasonable and the atmosphere rather delightful. Highly recommended.

This is my second visit to One Inn the Wood.
Both times I’ve felt really welcome. A mx of people , different ages, lots of doggos. The beer offering is so good. I highly recommend the Permanent Wood which is their house session bitter.
They also have a variety of keg and cask beers, cider, wines and spirits… and some nice snacks. They do a meat or / and cheese board.
The prices are very reasonable. They have won several awards from CAMRA for a reason.

Cosy place, lovely beer, knowledgable staff, dog friendly. Great snacks, too, especially the cheese. A local gem. Can't wait to be able to come and sit inside again!

We have been regular customers of One In The Wood since it opened. The perfect place to wind down with friends at the end of the week.
Lately it’s become a playground for families with young screaming children. We have children of our own but there’s a time an place…
Tonight we had to leave due to the noice and sadly I don’t think we’ll back anytime soon.

Tried to visit a couple of days ago only to find that to park the car you needed a phone. As I didn't have my phone on me, I couldn't visit. I also couldn't find a disabled parking space.

Visited all the pubs in the Petts Wood on the same night to get a feel for the place. One in the Wood was by far the best - great atmosphere and great beers. Will be returning

A brilliant little pub for anyone who wants to celebrate local ale or just shoot the breeze with the locals.
However, I have to add the staff are excellent and super helpful in choosing your local ale.
Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Friendly, quirky and wonderful range of craft beers and other drinks. Service always good. Inside ambience can be impacted by small group of over loud, male regulars.
Summer and pavement "garden" have added relaxed capacity for both dogs and drinkers. Highly recommended for all sorts.

Looking at the other reviews, I must be the odd one out. We arrived last Saturday at 10.50 p.m. but although it says clearly on the door that it closes at 11 p.m. and the pub was still busy, the barman wouldn't serve us. Whether this was pub policy or a whim of the barman, I couldn't say but it was bad for business as he turned away three thirsty punters.
We went down the road to the Daylight Inn where they were glad to serve us Harvey's Best but I won't be going to the One Inn the Wood for a long time.

Intimate one room micro pub serving superblyl kept ales and Kentish Fare. Well managed by teetotal ownwr. Easy going customers and beer enthusiasts provide a very friendly crowd. Smart punters book a table at the curry house next door and bring their beer in as its devout owners do not have a licence..

So stopped in for a swift half or two. I stopped with my misses and we had a few halves as couldn’t decide just what to drink, she wanted wine but after tasting the cider she was hooked. We had a few halves of cider and then I had a porter all off tap. I can see why but has wine micro pub of the year. Lovely kept beer and cider and will be going back again. Totally worth a visit if you are looking for craft or independent brewed beer. All very tasty and at a reasonable price

Have been in here a few times, during the day and evening. Have always found the staff friendly and have always ended up talking to people we didn’t know and have always found the regulars friendly. There is a good choice of drinks and we have enjoyed the odd cheese board.
I like the fact that people are discouraged from using their mobile phones, as this encourages people to be more sociable.
