Looks nice, but as soon as we mention our dog the owner becomes extremely unfriendly. Of course he is free to decide whether or bot to allow dogs in his restaurant, but it's not necessary to be nasty about it. One wonders what other reasons...there could be to suddenly be the target of this man's anger...More

We went for lunch with my wife's brother, his wife and a French friend of ours from Angouleme. Our relatives have a holiday home near Guemene-sur- Scorff and had been several times. The food and wine was amazing with a price of €11.50 for 4 courses...with water and wine!! For dessert I had the cheese board, with copious amounts of cheese. If you are travelling through Brittany put Les Trois Merchants on your bucket list, you will not be disappointed! The owner and his family run the restaurant and are most friendly and hospitable. Would highly recommend this restaurant.More

The menu was a set menu of four courses which I understand change daily the day we had our meal we enjoyed each course . It was real value for...money which included complimentary wine and water . We couldn’t rate this highly enough and would recommend anyone to give it a try we will certainly be returning to this little gem of a restaurantMore

Traditional Breton bar and restaurant serving traditional food. Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff who speak English. Went there for lunch which is a set so you get what is being cooked on the day. It was superb and there was an excellent choice of drinks....Will definitely be going there again.More

This is a great place to eat and is very popular with the locals. Booking advised!! It's a busy place with lots of chatter and people enjoying their meals. There is a set 4-course menu and one is never sure what the main dishes will...be. We had a slaw of potato and ham, an amuse bouche of fish served in a scallop shell, spaghetti bolognese in a rich meat and red wine sauce and then 3 choices of dessert : créme framboise, apricot flan or coffee/vanilla ice cream. All this with a bottle of red wine was €11.50 per head. We also tried a pichet du cidre locale. Not bad at all! It was fascinating to browse the knick-knacks and general clutter too. The owner is very friendly who loves his music. He speaks some English too! A top notch place for a truly traditional French eating experience. Great value!!More

We found this restaurant by word of mouth and just turned up. It has a moving crowd of patrons through it. When we arrived I counted 33 customers and as some left, others arrived. We were late arriving and had the menu of the day...and it arrived quite promptly. Red wine and water was on the table. First with our wine came some very tasty bread, lentils and ham. It was beautifully flavoured. For entree a salmon quiche and for main a beautiful chicken fillet with rice and potatoes followed by sweet cooked banana and chocolate rum ice cream! Our bill was 28euros! fabulous!More

Lovely restaurant, very welcoming, great food wine ambience at a very reasonable cost, less than a fast food resturant can offer, but twenty times better. Visit soon you won’t be disappointed.

What else can be said that hasn't already been said? This is a typically French restaurant that only serves food at lunchtime. You must book as it's always busy and full. There is generally no choice, unless some form of offal is the dish of...the day, then there is an alternative. However, you get two starters (yes two!), a main course, choice of dessert or cheese, wine included - all for 11,50€. I've no idea how they do it. The owner and barman is lovely and charming. The waitress is also charming and really efficient. Best of all is the building itself. It's supposed to be the oldest pub in Brittany. Really lovely experience.More

Even though this place had a rave review from the Guardian some years back, it has avoided being swamped by tourists. But always make sure you book, as it gets full and is justiofiably popular. The food is a notch or two above standard menu...ouvrier fare, and the ambiance and warm welcome are outstanding. As far as value for money is concerned, it's a steal. How do they do it?More

Brilliant traditional "menu du jour" restaurant....so French that it hurts! Fantastic 4 course lunches for 11,50€, including wine. Reportedly the oldest bar in Brittany, run by a lovely, polite gentleman, serving local beers on draught. They sometimes have unusual local delicacies on the menu, which...may not always be to English tastes, but there is always an alternative.More
