For a celebration I recently took my wife to The Merry Monk to try their Six Course Taster with Prosecco. One of the attractions with this menu is the chance to have something different...something I might not have thought of choosing. I am happy to...More

Bit off the beaten track but a great place! Food and service were brilliant! Great menu, plus a gluten feee menu for me! Lots of delicious choices, amazing home made breads! We were all very impressed and would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

We treated my wife's parents to lunch on a Saturday at their suggestion (they live relatively locally), and although the journey there and back turned out to be rather longer than anticipated, we all agreed it was well worth it. Really nice food - not...More

The main complaint was the price of the meal for very small portions of mediocre food.I do not expect to pay an extra £ 3.50 for vegetables! £ 114.00 for four main courses, one glass of wine, one fruit juice one bottle of lager and...More

Quaint Olde Pub in a lovely village. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful but the food was, in my humble opinion, average for the price.

Finding an independent restaurant open on a Sunday evening is nigh on impossible in the area so it was wonderful to find this gem. Sat in the garden for a family celebration. Great service and delicious food across all courses make this a definite revisit...More

Met friends here, 2pm for Sunday lunch. Nice cosy pub, good menu if a little pricey. What struck us was that there were only three tables eating in an otherwise empty pub. This did mean a little lack of atmosphere. A shame as the roast...More

I had a rare topside beef Sunday lunch. Good quality beef, excellent gravy. Good potatoes. Vegetable also very good. In particular I like the way the food was presented carefully and not just piled up on a plate like many English Sunday pub lunches. Broadside...More

Tucked away in the Cambridgeshire fens, The Merry Monk started life as three cottages in the 17th Century and from there became The Red Lion Public House until 1992 when it was renamed The Merry Monk. Roaring log fires for cosiness during the winter months and a garden rounding off a gorgeous country restaurant offer perfection for enjoyment throughout the year. Our focus at the Merry Monk is a casual and inviting atmosphere.
