Ate here for first time in a long time. Had craving for a salad and I remembered the last one I had here. Came in around 6:30 pm and not too busy for a Saturday evening. Seated reasonably quick with menus & water brought shortly...after we were seated. I ordered my old time favorite Cobb salad and had the tomatoes held. I requested the balsamic dressing. It was roughly 15 minutes before the meal was brought to table. Once it was set down in front of me, I knew it was exactly as I remembered. Ingredients were fresh, plentiful and the dressing was very flavorful. Every bit as good as I remember. Service for the evening was reasonable. We will return in the future.More

Good food, reasonable prices, and check out the baked goods on the way out. Outdoor and indoor dining.

This is an excellent restaurant We went for lunch and the food was great. The service is excellent, despite being short staffed. We bought a loaf of their rye bread and it was delicious.

Thought Toojay's was more of a lunch deli place. Tried it for breakfast. GREAT! We have nothing exotic: scrambled eggs and an omelette. Good, hot. I understand the Villages are having trouble getting enough staff. But no problem here. Server brought water, without asking. i...never see that anymore. She kept the hot coffee coming. We sat outside. We will be back. Toojay's - don't change a thing. Deserts in the glass cases looked yummy but we had no room left.More

Stopped here mid morning for breakfast. Seated right away and coffee and water brought out . Ordered and omelet and bacon and eggs, brought out in timely manner. As waitress set down plates, very visible black “hair” sticking out of the scrambled eggs on my...plate. Showed waitress immediately, she was still standing there as I saw the hair. Took plate back and had it remade. Came out hot and tasted fine, but not a great way to start the day.More

My husband and I came to visit The Villages for a weekend get away. His favorite restaurant from St. Pete was TooJays. Loves the Rubans. We decided to try this Toojays. The waitress Erika wasnt thrilled when she saw us. No greeting what so ever....She grabbed 2 menus and sat us in the first section. It was 11:45 and the menu she gave us was breakfast. No lunch. After we order, older couples started coming in. She was friendly to them. Asking them if they wanted breakfast or lunch AND she sat all of the older couples in the other section. She even had couples wait for tables in the other sections even though we were the ONLY couple in the first section. We get that The Villages is an older community but still, she could have been friendlier.More

I love TooJays. The sandwiches are awesome. However, the desserts leave something to be desired. So far, the white coconut cake is my favorite. That carrot cake is the worst ever. I had a piece awhile ago and had to toss it out. Since some...time had gone by, I thought I'd try another slice. Still bad. Tossed that in the trash. Even my husband asked where I got it and he'll eat just about anything. When I told him he thought it was pretty awful, too. Anyway, we know to pass on the desserts. The regular food is very good, however.More

Very, very limited Gluten Free options (salads). Location is very convenience, great atmosphere, very personal and attentive staff. I understand the specialty restaurant, but in these days, with so many people discovering dietary restrictions, it is difficult to me understand, how come it is so...difficult have gluten free bread for their sandwiches options (even if made by someone else).More

Placed an order via phone for sandwiches to pickup at front door. Called order in, paid for on phone & called again when arrived at the front door to notify my presence for pick up. All went off without any snags. Reuben was not only...hot but had so much meat on it I could hardly open my mouth wide enough to take a bite! Wasn’t expecting such a treat on a to go but pleasantly surprised. Steak fries and potato salad were the 2 sides that came with the meal and were good as well. I’ll be back again in near future. Personnel were courteous on phone and wore masks when brought food outside for delivery. Good process in place for their curbside service.More

I can't blame the front of the house staff for the kitchen problems even though it would have been nice if a manager had come over to our table to apologize. reviews are more service oriented not so much operational issues.

The food I got that night was indeed terrible, it was dried out and tasteless. i have gotten really good food there but I guess everyone has a bad night. maybe the regular cook was sick.
