If you want a real "bandeja paisa", this is the place. 100% typical food. You won't forget their crispy, savoury "chicharrón", as well the "carne en polvo" (powder meat) and the red beans. This was a local business that became famous for its quality and started attracting other restaurants. Today, it is an interesting gastronomy area of the big Medellin.

The food is great and the dishes huge. The tri fasico dish had rather exotic cuts such as cow tounge. I am not too fond of exotic cuts so I did not really enjoy this plate. The bandeja paisa or tipico is outstanding. We were 5 adults and shared two plates and it was perfect. Decoration is not outstanding... but... More

If you want to eat great local food you should visit El Trifásico. My only suggestion is to order the junior dishes because the sizes are huge! I've never been able to finish a whole dish.

if you have ever heard about 'bandeja paisa' you better go and try this place because they make an insane one. a traditional bandeja paisa has red beans, rice, chorizo, avocado, mince beef, sweet plantain slices, arepa and of course pork belly which is the thing I most like about this dish and they know all about how to cook... This place is know for its Chicharron and its banda Paisa typical to Antioquia. But the Chicharron is some of the largest and best anywhere. It's not greasy and its like bacon on steriods! Fantastic. Try the Refajo with beer and cola and other alcohol in the pitcher, and real hangover helper.

If you want to try the traditional bandeja paisa Antioquian dish and around Envigado area, this is the place. For what it is, I will give it a 4-star in term of service and quality of food. But personally deep fried chicharron is not really my thing.

I was told this was the best place to go in Medellin for chicharron. I enjoy a nice plate of chicharron with a fresh garden salad and side of delicious avocado. Would return again. Also purchased some fresh bing cherries from a side walk vendor.

Except for the beans which were excellent, the rest of the food very good. Friendly service, cold beer and some international coworkers got to eat as a local.

If what you are looking for is a giant, freshly fried chicharrón, that comes with beans, rice, plantains, fried egg, chorizo etc, then this is the place! My wife and I shared the Bandeja Suprema Jumbo and it was delicious and plentiful for both of us! We also had a pitcher of their sangria, which although different from the traditional... More
