If you are asking for deluxe service and perhaps the finest cuisine, then you should not choose the Coffee Tavern. Here is an eating place for a morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea while out for a walk or in transit. You will find a venue which is rich in atmosphere, with its log stove and the conversation of frequent... More

I am genuinely struggling to find something nice to say about the service and food at this place as the service was non existing and the food was, lets put it frank: not what we ordered, moldy and anything but nice! When I arrived at this place which, from the outside looks really nice: one of those typical flat-pack houses... More

What more do you want than good food in a great atmosphere with a lovely log burning stove? Have visited on several occasions having been for a walk in Lyme Park. Such a friendly cosy quaint cafe where you can relax and enjoy meals, snacks or just tea and cake! Lovely and quirky

The Coffee Tavern serves great coffee and great food. Service can be a little slow - but all the food is freshly cooked, piping hot, delicious and not expensive. A quirky little place, always a welcoming real fire so cosy too - great for after a long walk (or a short walk) - sadly no dogs allowed tho - but... More

Apparently located in a former reading room, this is a quirky little cafe with a surprisingly wide range of cakes and snacks. We received a friendly welcome and enjoyed cakes, drop scones and tea. We'd certainly go back again

We went out for a morning cycle ride and came here for breakfast and had a great bacon toastie, fresh orange and pot of tea. The cafe is a quirky place, in the middle of nowhere and selling various crafts and cards along with the food. The lady who runs the place was very nice to us.

Lovely place for lunch. Loads of choice of meals and snacks. Been here many times over the years. Really enjoyed my hot beef and caramelised red onion bap, loads of salad on the side with a small dish of the best ever home made horse radish sauce. Highly recommended. Friends all had: a generous, succulent beef salad and a fresh... More

I wondered what our hostess was taking us too. It turned out to be a character building with great country food and good coffee. If you are 'gluten free', grain free or need special help it's there at the coffee Tavern. Of course it's quirky, hidden among the trees on a back road, but Andrew the Chef loves his food... More
