Really disappointed with Fylde fish bar tonight Ordered 1 portion of takeaway fish n chips and waited over 20 mins. Same thing happened a couple of weeks ago and was hoping it was just a one off but obviously not. Regular customer and I definitely...won’t be going back in a hurryMore

Thank you so much! I really struggle to find delicious GF options for my wheat allergy, but this was an amazing find. We will definitely be back. Great value for money too. Helpful staff and extremely clean premises. Thank you for being so thorough! 😀

Visited on the recommendation of a friend who lives locally. Stopped off whilst returning from a day trip to Southport. There was a queue before opening time (which is always a good sign). We ate in but take away is also an option. The restaurant...has 10 tables and they were nearly all reserved. So when i visit again i will reserve a table. Friendly service. Decent menu and decent portions. I had the cod and chips with peas and spicy curry (called bang bang on the menu). The kids were happy with there menu. We certainly didn't leave hungry and will be back!!! Clean, friendly and quick service. They also serve alcohol for those fancying a tipple!!!More

Nanny, Mummy, Princess and Littleman were in Southport for a weekend. After driving up on a Friday afternoon, it was decided to try this restaurant, even though we hadn't booked in advance. We needed a gluten free meal for Nanny, and when we drove into...the carpark, and saw the queue, our hearts lifted. People don't queue unless it's good. Mummy asked, if, although we'd just turned up, was it possible to eat in the restaurant? We were in luck, there was a table: our order was GF fish, chips n peas for Nanny, Steak pudding dinner for Mummy, and sausage chips and beans for princess and little man. Nice fish, and details showing how, when and where it was caught. Details about the local.potatoes used as well. Excellent batter. Chips were light and fluffy inside. Excellent service, only a little time waiting, even though they were really busy, good choices, clear menu stated which were GF, and Nanny was pleasant surprised to be offered GF vinegar! Kids ate everything in front of them, no picky Minnie's that mealtime! Lovely pictures on wall showing the town's past. Place was spotlessly clean, no C19 worries either Bad bits? There were no bad bits. If you need GF, This Is The Place to Visit. Not heavily overpriced, and easily found, no dodgy satnav instructions either. Nice car park. N a good Co-op next door.More

My 4 year old son is coeliac and we always try and find a gluten free chippy whenever we are having a day out. Fylde's at Southport does not disappoint. Eat in or takeaway, amazing food, excellent staff but most of all, very knowledgeable about...gluten free. All chips are cooked separately to other food so are gluten free. The gluten free fish batter is cooked to order, own fryer, separate utensils. We visit every time we visit Southport and I love that we have found somewhere where my little coeliac can enjoy a chippy too!More

We googled best fish and chip shop in Southport, it directed us here. It was absolutely rubbish, others stated value for money , brill. I asked for 2 large fish, one portion of chips, 2 mushy peas and onion rings I got 2 scabby small,...shrivelled fish, chips not cooked through, mushy peas so thick you could have sliced em with a knife and the onion rings were all batter with a thin slice of onion not worth the money we paid.More

My boyfriend and I had a day out In Southport back in June, and we spent around 2 hours trying to find a chippy that accommodated someone with a gluten sensitivity. We found lots that said they did online, however when we went into the...restaurant they told us that the gluten free fryers were not working etc. I think this was rubbish and that they just didn’t want to put them on and was an excuse. So we decided to try this chippy that was just outside Southport centre (around 10 minutes drive) and we were not disappointed. I had the gluten free cod with chips and gravy and my boyfriend had a normal cod, chips and mushy peas and it was great. The fish was really fresh and you could not tell it was gluten free at all. My boyfriend said that the mushy peas were really nice as sometimes you can get weird tasting ones. I would definitely recommend. And they also do so many different gluten free options.More

We arrived here after a trip to Martin Mere, where we spent lots of hours walking around and sitting to admire the birds there. We were hungry and tired, we couldn't wait to have something to eat. The staff was friendly, quick and polite. We...felt spoiled, and comfortable. The food was delicios, huge portions, freshly prepared and quick.we had haddock, and it was absolutely perfect. And, not expensive at all. We will surely return here, and we warmly recommend this fish bar.More

Called in for tea with the boys tonight, and it was perfect. Son said it was the best fish ever. Seated straight away and didn’t have to wait long for the food. Friendly helpful staff as well. Excellent.
