Our server, Steven, made the evening as he was superb. A real asset to the restaurant / hotel! Apparently he left and returned. Without him the evenings service would have been poor at best! The seafood risotto was great apart from the temperature. Also, the wine glasses were very poor quality; they need upgrading!

I have enjoyed the hotel for stays, theatre, lunch and dining over several years and have had a generally good experience at the Ramada. The location, ease of parking (paid or otherwise) is as good as any in the town. The reception staff are invariably courteous and professional, as are the housekeeping personnel. The dining experience has deteriorated over time... More

We visited the Brasserie for lunch on Sunday 26 February for lunch, THE greeting on arrival was reasonably businesslike and the first impression of the menu was OK if limited. I ordered crispy black pudding which turned out to be some small pieces of black pudding scatted on among some green leaves, my main course was pork roulade which tasted... More

We have stayed here before but not eaten in the restaurant. This time we did and it was a disappointment; mostly because of the poor value of the main I chose. A quarter piece of a Bass and a small pot of salad do not constitute a good value hotel meal. £15+ for that - surely a joke. I couldn't... More

We were a party of six people dining early at 6 PM on a Friday night. Despite the fact that there were probably only three or four other tables in the restaurant the service was terribly slow. We needed to be in the theatre for 7:30 and only just made it (rushing the end of the meal) The food was... More

Had a disappointing lunch with a visiting friend. Ordered sandwiches at £8.50 a go. They took half an hour despite not being busy. The BLT was bacon and sad salad between two slices of toasted white bread and the Fishfinger sandwich arrived as another BLT so went back. Another 20 minutes produced pieces of fried cod between two slices of... More

Many thanks for your thoughts on your recent brief visit to our lounge. It does sound that our standards did fall below par on this particular day as this scenario is highly unusual and will be addressed. Your comments have been shared with the Head Chef. I agree this level of service is not good enough. I feel it is... More

I went here with my mother and two of her friends, one of whom is in a wheelchair. Firstly, it needs to be said that the Ramada is one of the only places that is completely wheelchair accessible. Parking below, no steps to negotiate on the way to the lift and the lift takes you straight up to restaurant level... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback for us. It is sad we didn't get to discuss this in person, as you make some interesting points, so would have been good to have the opportunity to discuss these before you left. I am pleased to hear the service was good and it does sound like the food... More

Description
This year we have welcomed a new Head Chef, and with him he has brought some fresh and new ideas to hit the ground running with a fresh new approach to our food offering. Concentrating on locally sourced produce from Peets Plaice for our fish, Kev Peet lives locally and goes out each morning to catch his fish. One of our dishes "Southport's Potted Shrimps" is created using his freshly caught shrimps. Forshaws supply our vegetables, we always have a "Soup of the day" usually using fresh seasonal vegetables. The new chef has designed his menu with an emphasis on freshly homemade, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. As you would expect we cater for all dietary requirements and special requests. Don't fancy anything on our menu? Tell us what you do fancy, if the chef has the ingredients, he will cook them up for you. The Food & Beverage as a team recognised afternoon tea as being one of the most popular reasons our customers visit our lounge. With this in mind our Chef has introduced some new exciting and unique variations, "Kids Afternoon Tea" for our little guest's, smaller portions of the classic afternoon tea, served with cordials instead of tea. Or there's even a "Gentleman's Afternoon Tea" A macho treat comprising of pork pies, black pudding roll, mini cheeseburgers, monkey nuts, pork crackling, pickles salad and bottle of locally brewed Southport Beer.
