The quality of food and service in Portofino is superb, and is easily the best on the Isle of Man. The fresh seafood is out of this world, and the wine list is extremely pleasing. The service is attentive without being intrusive, and the restaurant...More

Plenty of seating. Reasonable prices. Good view of harbour. Just a main was big enough for us. They do set menus with 2 or 3 courses. Outdoor seating too.

The food choice was very disappointing with only one vegetarian option. Overall, quite boring. Having booked a table for three, the waitress directed us to a table for two as the manager didn't check the bookings. The wine waiter spilt the wine on the table...More

Although quite pricey, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here whilst on holiday on the Isle of Man. The food was well cooked and well presented and staff were attentive without being pushy. Would definitely visit this restaurant again.

We visited this restaurant during the Isle of Man TT week. I booked a few months in advance after reading the rave reviews. It did not start well. We arrived slightly earlier than our 8.00 booking and was met by a rather dour looking waitress...More

First-rate food and service. Possibly the best on the Island. I will definitely be back. On the pricier side but the attention to service and quality compensate for paying that bit more. Highly recommended.

Personally I would say this is the best the Isle of Man has to offer. Mario is an excellent host and we dine there most months.

Description
Portofino was opened at 18:15 on the 19th November 2010, as the Island's most prestigious Mediterranean and International restaurant. Dominating the Quay West development, centrally located in the Isle of Man's capital Douglas, Portofino enjoys spectacular views overlooking the marina, with activity of the street outside, visible through floor to ceiling windows. The grill, fish, poultry, meat and vegetables are prepared in full view of diners at the surrounding kitchen. During summer, outside tables are available for dinning. Portafino's interior was designed by Sicilian owner Mario Ciapelli. Its interior is complemented by high-back leather chairs, a modern cocktail serving bar and contemporary lighting throughout to provide a luxury and modern yet comfortable enviroment for diners. The restaurant also provides diners with the option to book the Xander Suite, a private dining room which can accommodate up to 30 guests.
